• Well, that Conference USA scheduling comput-er has no love for the Tigers over this two-week stretch (four games) that began Jan. 30.

• Memphis is the only team in C-USA to play three of its next four league contests on the road. The Tigers played at East Carolina Jan. 30 (75-68 Tigers win) and has road games at SMU Feb. 6 and Southern Miss Feb. 9.

• Memphis’ lone home contest in this four-game stretch is Saturday, Feb. 2 versus Tulsa.

NCAA title as a player on the 1996-97 Arizona squad.

• Tulsa head coach Danny Manning won two NCAA crowns as a player and assistant coach at Kansas. Manning led the Jayhawks to the 1988 national title as a player and then helped guide Kansas to the 2008 NCAA championship as an assistant on Bill Self’s staff. The Jayhawks de-feated Memphis for the 2008 NCAA title.

• Memphis moved to the top position in both na-tional polls on Jan. 21, 2008, and then two days later, met the Golden Hurricane in the Reynolds Center. Memphis won that encounter 56-41.

HIDE YOUR EYES! • Saturday’s contest may not be a pretty sight in

terms of shooting from long distance. • Memphis and Tulsa both are in the bottom half

of Conference USA in three-point shooting per-centage.

• The Tigers are seventh in Conference USA in three-point shooting percentage (34.5), while the Golden Hurricane are ninth (32.7).

PROTECT THE BALL! • Saturday’s outcome may come down to which

TIGERS ‘BOUNDING THE BOARDS IN2012-13 • A lot of talk in head coach Josh Pastner’sfirst

three seasons centered about rebounding and the Tigers’ frustration in that area.

• It looks as if that’s been corrected this season. • Memphis is out-rebounding its opponents by an

average margin of +5.5 boards per game (37.1-31.6), which is third in Conference USA.

• In C-USA games only (six contests), the Tigers’ rebound margin is +9.2 boards per game (39.5-30.3), which leads the league.

• The Tigers have won the board battle 13 times this season, including games with Minnesota, Ohio, Louisville and Harvard.
