Mendums Pond Attendant The attendant is the “face” of Mendums Pond and is responsible for greeting all patrons as they enter, providing information about the facility, and directing patrons toward the parking and/or drop off area and assisting with boat rentals. The attendant will rotate between the gatehouse and boathouse duties. Mendums Pond staff are employees of the University of New Hampshire Department of Campus Recreation. Attendants report to the supervisor on duty and the Mendums Pond Manager. While on duty, the gate attendant is expected to: Gatehouse: Station him/herself near gatehouse entrance in order to be visible and accessible to patrons at all times Inform patrons of area rules and regulations and provide directions to parking and drop off areas Collect entrance fees and document patrons information Boathouse: Ensure that renters complete boat rental forms completely and accurately Distribute and collect equipment from patrons (boats, paddles, PFDs) Inform renters of rental policies Assist patrons in getting boats on and off of boat racks and into/out of water and return all boats to racks at end of day Ensure that all boats are put away properly and locked at the end of the day Ensure that PFDs are clean and dried Be aware of boaters and swimmers for signs of distress Keep an accurate account of all rentals Collect and record boat rental fees Help Supervisor with daily maintenance tasks General: Represent UNH and Campus Recreation in a professional, positive, and courteous manner in all interactions with patrons and other passers-by Provide excellent customer service to all patrons Pick up any and all trash/litter from around the gatehouse and front gate area Maintain the cash box and complete all forms accurately and completely Return all completed forms to the Supervisor to be returned to the Whittemore Center for deposit at the end of the day and inform the supervisor if any additional forms are needed for the next day Keep the binder neat and in order Be aware of Reservation groups Arrive on time (15 minutes early) for all shifts Wear a Mendums Pond staff shirt and appropriate attire at all times during shifts Handle visitor questions regarding facility Report emergencies, thefts, equipment damage, etc. to supervisor Hold first Aid/CPR certification To Apply: Please send resume and cover letter to Cary Rhodes at [email protected].
