I can only start by apologising for the lengthy delay of Edition #10. With a few changes being made to the team, and a shift in focus this Edition took longer than expected to complete. The delay isn't on, and I hold my hands up to the error. I hope the value you're about to get within this Edtion makes up for the delay.

Daniel Rhone is on board to offer his opinions in The Style Directory, alongside offering advice on 'What To Wear For Dressed Down Fridays'. We've also introduced more grooming features in this Edtition alongside a 'Self Improvement' series which were both requested by readers.

What's new for MFM? The MFM Academy is here, and spaces are filling up fast. If you're someone looking to demand more attention, improve your confidence and attract more success through improving the way you dress then the Academy is for you....

As a bonus, we're giving away the 10 Style Principles Manual for FREE below...

1) Keep An Aspect of Formality

JUST BECAUSE THERE’S A RELAXED DRESS CODE ON A FRIDAy IN yOUR WORkPLACE, DOESN’T MEAN TO DROP yOUR LEvEL IN TERMS OF APPEARANCE. ALWAyS TRy AND FIELD A TAILORED ITEM OF CLOTHING INTO yOUR DRESS DOWN ATTIRE WHETHER THAT BE A TAILORED JACkET OR A SLIM CUT COTTON TROUSER WHICH CAN BE MOULDED INTO A MORE CASUAL APPROACH BUT STILL APPROPRIATE.

2) Have Some ‘Dress Up’ Options On HandkEEP IN yOUR DESk DRAWER A GOOD WHITE SHIRT, kNITTED TIE AND A POCkET SqUARE FOR THOSE EMERGENCy MEETINGS THAT CROP UP ON A FRIDAy AFTERNOON WHEN yOU’RE ALMOST IN WEEkEND MODE. A CRISP WHITE SHIRT WITH A GOOD COLLAR WILL LIFT THE MOST CASUAL OF OUTFITS. yOU CAN CALL ON THE ADDITION OF A kNITTED TIE FOR THOSE CIRCUMSTANCES WHERE ONE IS NECESSARy. THE kNITTED vERSION GOES GREAT WITH A PAIR OF JEANS OR CHINOS IF yOU ARE CAUGHT SHORT. ANOTHER TOP TIP WOULD BE TO ADD A HANDkERCHIEF TO yOUR BREAST POCkET WHICH GIvES A TOUCH OF FORMAL STyLE WHICH WILL ADEqUATELy LIFT yOUR DRESSED DOWN APPROACH.

3) Keep Your Denim DarkIF yOU’RE OPTING FOR DENIM ON A FRIDAy, THEN MAkE SURE IT’S DARkINDIGO DENIM WITHOUT ANy FADE. THERE IS TRULy NOTHING WORSE THAN A LIGHT WASH, FADED JEAN IN AN OFFICE ENvIRONMENT. I WOULD ALSO RECOMMEND A SLIM CUT WITHOUT GOING TOO SkINNy. A STRAIGHT TO SLIM CUT WILL MIRROR THE FORM OF yOUR TAILORED WORk WEAR THROUGH MONDAy TO THURSDAy BUT WILL ALSO MAkE yOU FEEL DRESSED DOWN.

4) Lose The Shirt For Fine KnitsTO ADD A BIT OF vARIETy INTO yOUR DRESS DOWN LOOk, WHy NOT INJECT SOME COLOUR AND STyLE IN THE FORM OF A FINE GAUGE kNIT IN A POLO OR CREW NECk STyLE WHICH WORkS PERFECTLy WITH A TAILORED BLAzER. IN TERMS OF COLOUR yOU SHOULD ALWAyS CONSIDER A NAvy OR CHARCOAL GREy kNIT BUT ALSO BE OPEN TO STRONGER, EXPRESSIvE COLOURS THAT WILL GIvE yOUR OUTFIT THE IMPETUOUS yOU DESIRE WITHOUT MAkING yOU THE LAUGHING STOCk OF THE OFFICE.

Page 6: Mens Fashion Magazine - Edition #10

23.EDITION #10

5) Use Texture Where You CanSUBTLETy CAN BE A WEAPON WHEN IT COMES TO LOOkING GOOD IN THE WORk ENvIRONMENT. SWAPPING yOUR LEATHER OXFORDS FOR A SUEDEMONk STRAP CAN MAkE ALL THE DIFFERENCE. ALSO CONSIDER A MOLESkIN OR CORDUROy TROUSER IN LIGHTER OR DARk AUTUMNAL TONES WHICH WILL ADD SOME PERSONALITy TO yOUR DRESS DOWN LOOk.

6) Relax The RulesIF yOU HAvE A SLIGHT LENIENCy IN yOUR WORk DRESS CODE THEN LOOk AT THE IDEA OF MIXING AND MATCHING yOUR TAILORING WARDROBE. FOR EXAMPLE PAIR yOUR NAvy JACkET WITH A CHARCOAL CHECk TROUSER FROM yOUR OTHER SUIT TO CREATE A LOOk BUILT FROM TWO OF yOUR EXISTING BUSINESS DRESS OPTIONS. ALSO yOU CAN BE A BIT MORE EXPRESSIvE WITH yOUR TAILORED JACkET, FOR EXAMPLE; OPTING FOR A THICkER WOOL WEAvE WHICHADDS DEFINITION AND TEXTURE TO THE MOST MUTED OUTFIT COMBINATION. I WOULD ALSO CONSIDER A CHECk OR A SLIGHT FLECk IN THE FABRIC OF THE JACkET TO GIvE IT A POINT OF DIFFERENCE.

THE NAVY SUIT

NO COLOUR SUIT HAS AS MUCH vERSATILITy AS THE NAvy SUIT DOES. FOR OCCASION ALL yEAR ROUND WHICH COULD COvER WEDDING, BLACk TIE AND ALSO WORk DRESS. yOU COULD EvEN SPLIT THE SUIT UP AND USE THE JACkET WITH A SEPARATE TROUSER OR JEAN AND LIkE WISE WITH THE TROUSERS. GO FOR A THREE PIECE OPTION TO GET EvEN MORE vERSATILITy AND WEAR FROM THE SUIT.

HUGO BOSS NAvy THREE PIECE SLIM FIT SUIT £630.00 WWW.MRPORTER.COM

THE WHITE SHIRT

A MUST HAvE STAPLE - THE CLASSIC WHITE SHIRT. SERIOUSLy EvERy MAN SHOULD HAvE A WHITE SHIRT IN HIS WARDROBE. DEPENDENT ON WHETHER yOU NEED WHITE FORMAL SHIRTS FOR WORk OR TO HAvE ONE STRONG OPTION FOR AN EvENING OUT OR TO DRESS UP A SUIT FOR A FORMAL OCCASION.

WOOL COAT

THE IMPORTANCE OF A GOOD COAT WHICH HAS vERSATILITy CAN NOT BE RECOMMENDED ENOUGH. A DARk GREy OR NAvy WOULD BE STAND UP OPTIONS BUT WITH CAMEL yOU GET TO INJECT SOME NECESSARy COLOURINTO yOUR WARDROBE WHICH COMBINES FANTASTICALLy WITH ALL COLOURSFROM LIGHT TO DARk. A ‘CHESTERFIELD’ STyLE IN A FITTED CUT WILL ALLOW yOU TO WEAR CASUALLy AND FORMALLy.

NOOSE & MONkEy CAMEL COAT £180.00 WWW.TOPMAN.COM

DENIM JEANS

A DARk INDIGO DENIM JEAN IS ANOTHER STAPLE THAT REALLy IS ESSENTIAL TO HAvING A STyLISH, MULTI-FUNCTIONAL WARDROBE. OWNING A SLIM FIT ORGANIC JEAN LIkE NUDIE’S NARROW-LEGGED OPTION WILL ALLOW yOU TO DRESS UP OR DOWN. OPTING FOR A SOLID INDIGO WASH IS THE BEST OPTION, AS HAvING A FADE OR A LIGHTER WASH WOULD MAkE THE DENIM MORE OF A CASUAL OPTION.

The Best Watches For Men InAs the world of technology slowly begins to usurp traditions of old, we often find ourselves in danger of forgetting about the qualities that makes us not merely man but gentlemen.

The mobile phone is a prime example of this; no longer do we rely on our watch to tell the time, instead pulling whatever device we have tucked away in our back pocket – or more often than not in the palm of our hand – to tell how much of the day has passed us by.

2016

The humble watch has become something of a bystander in the tech-led world but a true gent, and age plays no part in being a gent, will still proudly carry

time around on the end of his wrist because the watch is one of our greatest sartorial accessories and no outfit is complete without a one.

Here’s a few styles for you to cast your mind over…

The classic watchNothing says gentleman quite like an elegant round watch face with a fine leather strap. It doesn’t matter if you’re wearing a white t-shirt and blue jeans, the sharp suit you wear to the office or polo shirt, shorts and loafers on your holidays, the classic watch really is timeless. This is the watch of elegance and chivalry, of the gent who eschews trends in favour of something altogether more

EvENING SkINCARE

GROOMING ROuTINE FOR MEN

With fashion revolving at a faster rate then ever before, staying abreast of what’s hot and what’s not isn’t always easy, nor is the expense it can often cost to replenish your wardrobe every three to six months. One sure fire way to get around this problem is by changing your hairstyle.

Why is skincare important?

Cleanse: Multi-Action Face Wash

To simplify this is just cleansing/washing your face. It’s scary how many guys avoid this, sticking to old school techniques of a bar of soap or simply just sticking with water. Your face is an area which gets a lot of outside attention so paying close attention to how it looks is important.

Cleansing the skin will help dissolve excess oil, and if you go for a good face wash with gentle exfoliating beads you can unclog pores and avoid ingrowing hairs. The skin has an opportunity to be replenished while you sleep with blood supply to the face increasing and a number of other essential metabolic processes taking place too. So the evening is an ideal time to cleanse.

Invest in a good face wash and scrub well. Simply rinse your face with warm water, scrub with the face wash and rinse off. When drying drop your masculinity for a moment and be gentle, your skin is pretty delicate so dry lightly.

Cleansing before a clean shave will also help, as it will lift and soften beard hairs prepping for a closer, smoother shave.

Think about it, applying time and effort to improve your style can easily be let down by you avoiding a grooming routine. Skincare is one of the most important areas, but it’s also one of the hardest to master.

Removing blemishes, dark circles and tired looking eyes, rough skin and most importantly improving how you age are key benefits to introducing a skincare routine. But where do you start?

The evening is the best place to start for a man because we often have more time on our hands. It’s important to implement this new routine we’re about to share into your existing one. To keep it simple, just apply the following routine after you clean your teeth in the evening.

Grooming and seeing improvements is all about consistency, so it’s important to develop a habit around it. Cleaning your teeth should be a daily habit you’ve already established so cleaning your teeth becomes a trigger, simply reminding you to do the following…

How to getI’ve often struggled with motivation, and it’s not just me who does.A lack of motivation can account to a lot of negative habits if we don’t address it.

Low productivity levels at work, no motivation to exercise, no motivation to awaken early and sometimes a lack of motivation to do small mundane tasks throughout the day. When you lack motivation, getting up from your comfy sofa (or bed) to do a small task which is in the next room requires effort. But how do we overcome it?How do we turn the corner and heighten our motivation levels?

Highly motivated people get more done, typically meaning they’ll achieve more and they often have an extremely positive mindset. Imagine being highly motivated, and someone who easily applied 100% effort into every thing they done.Well in today’s article I’m going to offer a few tips to help you get there…

motivated

1. Inspiration is keyMotivation is mostly driven from a state of inspiration. When you’re inspired to do something, motivation is heightened.Think about the last time you were inspired to DO something…I bet it was pretty easy to get it done? When you’re inspired to do something it doesn’t become something you feel you’re forced to do. It’s something that you want to do, it’s something which is alignment with your purpose.I’ve spoke about this in a previous post, but when you live on purpose your inspiration levels are heightened. Leading to higher motivation levels to get things done.

9. EDITION #10

I M P R O v E M E N TA DV IC E

Inspiration comes from the words ‘in spirit’. When you’re inspired by a greater purpose everything starts to become a lot easier. What path do you feel compelled to follow? What story do you want to tell? When you’re in true alignment with purpose your inspiration levels heighten, you feel less risk because you simply follow the truth within you and you feel fulfilled.

What inspires you? What’s your purpose?

Recently my motivation levels for work dropped. The reason? I’d shifted off purpose.I knew what I wanted to do but the daily tasks to keep businesses running overtook my work day.I looked back over the past month at times I felt truly motivated to work. Times I was inspired…All of those times I was truly on purpose with what I wanted to be doing.Of course there are still tasks I do which I don’t feel inspired to do but I’m implementing more tasks into my day which come from the source of inspiration. I also start the day with a task I’m inspired to do.It helps me get up early, start the day positively and then the motivation gained from starting the day in a state of inspiration makes the daily tasks that follow easier. I was setting my alarm at 5am to get up and do a task I felt I ‘needed’ to do. You can probably guess what happened? I didn’t get up.If the task didn’t inspire me it led to a lack of motivation. Now I set my alarm at 5am to get up and do a task I can’t wait to do. A task I’m inspired to do. A task which is in complete alignment with my purpose. You can probably guess what happens now? I get up. When you tap into your source of inspiration your motivation levels heighten.

2. Good morningWhat do you do in the morning?I’m a strong believer that a good morning routine can have massive impacts on anyones life.If you wake up to the sound of a horrible alarm clock, you snooze it a few times, get up because you HAVE TO do something (work, kids, school) and then walk around like a zombie getting ready…Your day’s gonna suck.Getting up this way, which a high majority of people do, is going to put you into a negative mindset.

Page 18: Mens Fashion Magazine - Edition #10

96. www.mensfashionmagazine.cOM EDITION #10

I M P R O v E M E N TA DV IC E

Now as most successful people do, think about how you’d feel if you got up early, you got out of bed because you were inspired to start the day, you exercised, read or did something to aid your personal growth (meditation, affirmations, visualisation), you then jumped into your work day and started on the one thing that inspired you the most…What mind state would you be in now?

The issue is people think a morning routine like the above is impossible for them. Bullsh*t excuses such as lack of sleep, not wanting to wake the kids and not having the time to do so are all extremely common.Waking up feeling inspired rather than feeling like you have to awaken is a mindset shift. That requires no extra time or noise that will awaken the household…Exercise and tasks that aid your personal growth can be broken down into 10 minute blocks. Combined it’s probably going to take an extra 30 minutes in the morning. Can’t get up 30 minutes earlier or deal with 30 minutes less of sleep? Then you’re going to continue living the same life you live now with a lack of motivation.

Plan out a morning routine which sets you up in a positive mindset.Get up earlier, and get it done. The results will astound you.

Page 19: Mens Fashion Magazine - Edition #10

3. Your power hourWhat part of the day do you feel motivated? What time of the day are you inspired?Everyone is different but everyone has a ‘power hour’.When are you in complete alignment with source and your productivity levels are heightened? For some it might be early in the morning (like me) and for some it might be late at night.

Think about what times of the day you feel motivated and inspired. It really is about tapping into this, and making sure you get whatever it is you want done in this time. When there’s a time in the day when you’re in alignment with source and you’re inspired it’s time to get things done.I find the mornings are the best time for me. Typically

around 6am. I can get my whole to do list done from 6am – 10am. For some people it might be late nights, struggling to switch off because you’re creativitiy is heightened is often a sign of your ‘power hour.’ For others it’s the middle of the night, often being awaken at the same time every day.Don’t resist it, get up and really tap into the creativity and inspiration you’ll find from this time of the day. Avoiding your power hour daily will decrease your motivation levels. It’s there for everyone and avoiding it will just continue to damage connection in spirit (inspiration) and will affect your motivation.
