MENTOR FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS AT SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY AARHUS UNIVERSITY AU By becoming a mentor volunteer, you can enhance someone’s experience of being a student just by sharing your own experience of being one. Besides enhancing your personal skills, being a mentor will give you a lot of opportunities. You will become a member of the mentor association at Science and Technology- iMentorAarhus. And you will get the chance to participate in different social events with fellow mentors and mentees such as potluck dinner, barbecue night, poker tournament, pub crawl, tour de fredagsbar. YOUR TASKS AS A MENTOR VOLUNTEER Connect with your mentee via email before ar- rival to arrange a meeting time and place Pick up keys at the International Centre if the student expects to arrive outside the International Centres opening hours Meet your mentee upon arrival to Aarhus and guide the mentee to International Centre for reg- istration Guide mentee to dorm and help him/her figure out how to get from dorm to the university Give mentee student information about where to get groceries, party, do sports etc. Attend social event at the beginning of the se- mester WHAT IS REQUIRED FROM A MENTOR VOLUN- TEER? The mentor as- sociation is supported financially by the Faculty of Science and Technology. The mentor job is voluntary and unpaid. You should expect to spend around 10 hours per mentee. You will receive a mentor certificate to prove that you have functioned as a mentor.
