But Remember…But Remember…

• The Navigation Acts were passed by Parliament to limit colonial trade with other European countries. During the next simulation:

– Spain and the Netherlands must pay 1 gold bar to England to trade with the colonies.

– Colonies must pay 1 gold bar to England to trade with Spain and the Netherlands.

• But, the colonists also became very good smugglers….

• Rules from Round 1 apply (colonies may only trade with Europe and visa versa).

• However, the Navigation Acts are also in place, so you must pay 1 gold bar to England to trade with the colonies if you are Spanish or Dutch or to trade with the Spanish or Dutch if you are a colonist…– … but only if England catches you…

• You have 5 minutes to trade.

largely left on their own to govern themselves and to control their own trade.
