DIVINE MERCY SUNDAY!e message of Divine Mercy is that
God loves us – all of us – no matter
how great our sins. He wants us to
recognize that His mercy is greater
than our sins, so that we will call upon
Him with trust, receive His mercy,
and let it flow through us to others,
sharing His joy.
“For the sake of His sorrowful
Passion, have mercy on us and on
the whole world.”
Jesus, I trust in you!

PARISH LIFE
GET TO KNOW OUR NEWEST MEMBERS OF THE FAITHWe asked our RCIA candidates to tell us a little bit about themselves and what led them to the Catholic Church.
Here are their answers:
LETITIA ROBINS
I am a married stay at home mother with three children.
I became familiar with the Catholic Church by way of my kids attending Catholic school and being involved with them attending Mass. Lis made me want to inquire about the Church and learn more about the faith. I also want to raise my family with a faith-filled background and to strengthen our spiritual walk together.
ROYCE STEWART
I have a daughter Sophia Grace who is 8 years old and in 2nd grade. Professionally, I am in Business Development (JB James Construction) and I’m also an independent Professional Photographer.
I have been going to Mass most of my adult life. I have always felt such serenity in the Catholic Church. Le principles and teachings of forgiveness through Confession has been my biggest attraction. I strive to be in the “state of grace” in which I hope the Church will help discipline me so I might be of more service to others. It is also very important for me to have my daughter be part of the faith. I feel very blessed to be able to be a part of the Catholic Church.
LAUREN WHATLEY
I am married to a firefighter and am a mother of two children - Clay (2 years old) and Elizabeth (3 months).
Some of my family and my in-laws are Catholic. I plan on raising both of my children Catholic which is why I decided to go through RCIA so I can be better connected in the faith with my family and so we can all worship together.
JEFF WILLIAMS
I moved to Baton Rouge when I was 16 years old. I am a graduate of Woodlawn High School and LSU where I received my BS and MBA degrees. I worked in Houston, TX as a Consultant for 10 years and traveled all throughout the world. While in Houston, I met a BR girl who convinced me to move back home. I currently serve as the Executive VP and CEO of the LA State Medical Society. I have been for 14 years and I have three children, two at Mercy and one at St. Lillian Academy.
Lere are several reasons for joining the Church, mostly for my wife, children, and long time friend who re-introduced me to the Church.
PETE WILSON
I am married to Esther who I met while working in Switzerland. We have three children who all live near by and also five grandchildren. I am a Human Resource Director for Detroit Diesel Corporation and have been working for them for thirty-nine years.
My wife and I raised all three of our children in the Catholic faith and have been attending the Catholic Church for over thirty years. Le biggest influences in my decision of joining the Catholic Church are my wife and Fr. Cleo. Ley are both great examples of how one should live their faith.
