I would like to say "Thank You" to everyone for the prayers, cards, calls and meals during my surgery and chemotherapy. I also want to thank Jen-nifer Nunemaker for doing an awesome job filling in as choir director, Tracie Harris for doing an awesome job filling in at the office, and for Gus Glessner and the others who have been playing the piano each week. My illness was certainly a surprise to me and my family, but it was not a sur-prise to God, who had everything taken care of. What a mighty God we serve!! Thanks again! - Leslie

We have deeply appreciated all of your prayers, cards, and thoughts as Vonnie had

Shoebox Packing Hints and Suggestions
1. Pack a “WOW!!” item on top, something medium to large in size that will capture the child’s immediate attention when they open the box.
2. Pick items that are full of COLOR, as many of these children live in worlds that are all browns and grays.
3. Remember the child may not read English and may not have access to an adult who can read English.
4. Batteries should be sent in their original packages. If sent loose, please cover BOTH ends of the batteries with tape to prevent accidental discharge and possible fires.
5. Items with expiration or shelf-life dates, such as candy or toothpaste, should have expiration dates at least SIX months after the National Collection Week. For 2016, it should expire after June 1, 2017.
6. Toys like spiders, bugs, snakes, etc. are acceptable, especially when they are colorful and look more like cartoon characters than real-life animals.
7. Camouflage items may be sent ONLY if the child can wear or use without looking like a soldier. Brightly colored camo (pink, neon orange) is safe as are camo pencils, wallets, or socks. Camouflage in greens, beiges, whites, or grays should be avoided.

INTERNATIONAL MISSION STUDY: NORWAY
Sunday, November 13
4:00 – 7:00 p.m. –Anderson Hall
For Youth and Adults
It’s a land of dramatic Nordic landscapes with lush meadows and forested hills, icy glaciers and rushing waterfalls, deep fjords and snow-capped peaks. In the north, the summer sun shines around the clock, and in the winter northern lights fill the sky.
Beyond startling beauty, Norway’s other superlatives include it being considered the world’s most democratic nation. It ranks among the world’s wealthiest nations with North Sea oil fields allowing the country to sock away reserves of hundreds of billions of dollars. And using the United Nation’s measures for happiness, people in Norway enjoy high levels of security, strong social policies, free-doms, and an overall sense of well-being, making Norway one of the happiest countries in the world.
Yet, in a country that seemingly has everything, Norway’s heritage as a Christian nation belies its spiritual state. Postmodern culture has taken root here as in much of Europe with its sense of rela-tivism and lack of definitive truths. Large church buildings of the past stand empty or have been converted into cafes in the secular culture.
In a land of such outward beauty and self-sufficiency, how and where is God working to bring peo-ple to a rich faith in Norway? Journey through Norway with us and see how God is bringing spiritual beauty to this land.
