Well done to Mrs Edmiston and Ms Pritchard for all the work they put into this. A huge thank you must go to Mark de Campo, the Youth Development Officer from the Golden Plains Shire for not only organising Michael’s visit, but also funding it through his department. We are very grateful for your generosity. Tomorrow I am planning to send home a term 3 calendar to all our families. You will notice that earlier next term we have a number of camps running. During this time we will have some minor adjustments to our regular program at school, including some collapsing of classes. However to minimise the impact of this, we will certainly give students prior notice of any potential changes. I would also like to inform families that Belinda is on track to return to work at the start of next term after her neck surgery. Judith will continue to work in the office for the first four weeks, while Belinda is adjusting to returning to work in a full time capacity. REMINDER: LAST DAY OF TERM School finishes at 2:30pm

Principal’s Report

Hi Everyone, what a term we have had!

We you look back at everything we have done……Golf clinics, Winters sports, X-Country, Lightening Premiership,

NAPLAN, School Review, Healthy Heroes, Melbourne Museum, School Disco and most recently our Night at the

Museum event, I can understand why we are all feeling a little tired. Despite all of this, I would like to thank

everyone for your support of the school this term around all of our events. We have had a number of people

volunteering their time and energy to help us out when we have asked for it, we certainly appreciate the help!

The 4-6 students have had a big focus around ‘Wellbeing’ this week. I have enjoyed talking to students around the

different activities they have been doing, it was certainly a great way to finish the end of the term. Well done to Mrs

Edmiston and Ms Pritchard for all the work they put into this. A huge thank you must go to Mark de Campo, the

Youth Development Officer from the Golden Plains Shire for not only organising Michael’s visit, but also funding it

through his department. We are very grateful for your generosity.

Tomorrow I am planning to send home a term 3 calendar to all our families. You will notice that earlier next term we

have a number of camps running. During this time we will have some minor adjustments to our regular program at

school, including some collapsing of classes. However to minimise the impact of this, we will certainly give students

prior notice of any potential changes.

I would also like to inform families that Belinda is on track to return to work at the start of next term after her neck

surgery. Judith will continue to work in the office for the first four weeks, while Belinda is adjusting to returning to

work in a full time capacity.

Our New Indigenous Gardens

Last Tuesday was a huge day of planting for everyone at school. It has been a long held idea to plant an indigenous

garden at the school and one perfect site was at the entrance to the school. The grade 4 – 6 students were very keen

to dig, plant, water and put tree guards around their plants and then they moved over to “The Ramble” at the front

of the bluestone building to help the Prep – grade 3 children. There was much cheerful chatter and enthusiastic work

going on and many happy, hungry children when it was finished who were ready for their Tuesday Toasties.

We hope these two areas will provide places for the children to play and a welcoming and attractive entrance to the

school.

Many thanks to Helena Lindorff who has been looking after all the plants since last year while we waited for the

autumn break, which was very late arriving. It was wonderful to see Helena on the day with Charlotte and Bethany.

Thanks, too, to Danny Rabusin and Brodie Wells who dug most of the holes on Monday after school; to Bianca

McDonnell who gave advice and organised where the different types of plants would look best and to Sharon

Rabusin, Matt Fisher and Ralph Holtz for extra hole digging, mulch moving and planting help.

We are also grateful to Jimmy Knight who dug the holes along the front fence line. The Prep, grade one and two

children have each planted callistemon and grevilleas, which will attract the birds and be colourful for many months

of the year. There is a record of all the children’s plants and they will be able to look after and enjoy them in years to

come.

Lastly, thank you to the staff and the students who are always so keen and enthusiastic when it comes to caring for

their school and making it a better place to be. Check out the photos we have included.

YMCA Bike Ed Program - Winter School Holidays

Starting Monday July 9th, the YMCA (Bannockburn) will be

conducting a two day Bike Ed program for any interested

students. This program is a skill development program that

bring a bike that is in good working order, a helmet that

meets Australian Safety standards (silver sticker in the

lining of the helmet) and appropriate footwear for both days

(e.g. runners), snacks and packed lunch and drink bottle.

Students are to be aged between 9-13 years and be

competent at riding a bike independently. Each day will run

from 8:30am to 5:30pm and each student who completes

the two day program will receive a competency certificate.
