There's a certain level of pride that comes after you hear what was once a concept beingreferred to as an annual calendar event. Its always exciting to hear a sponsor or an exhibitorcall to confirm six months in advance that they are committing to next year's event. BridalShows and Expos are not like parties, you don't have repeat patrons - after all, a bride only getsmarried once. So repeat business for a bridal show is our sponsors, exhibitors and mediapartners who sign on year after year.

With every event there must be growth and evolution of the brand. This year WeddingSpectacular launched Kingston's first Bridal Tour which was an amazing success. See thephotos in magazine. Thank you for coming to Wedding Spectacular 2016. We hope you enjoythis resource magazine, we had fun putting it together. Wishing you a beautiful fairytalewedding when your Big Day comes!!!Thank You.

It's almost impossible to single out each individual who has assisted and aided us on creatingthis event year after year. But the truth is, none of this would be possible without hundreds ofpeople working together to create an experience for Brides. The INTUIT Concepts teamrecognises this and we'd like to say a special thank you firstly to the women who dreamed ofmarriage from when they were little girls, and to the men who had the courage to embracelove and ask.

Director's NoteIt has been an amazing journey getting to the 5 yearmark. Its surprising when you check the eventstatistics. Many events seldom pass year three. What started out as Jamaica's Women Expo five yearsago with a very young INTUIT Concepts wastransformed quite by accident when a sponsorsuggested that if we did a wedding expo instead theywould comp us the venue. Eager to prove and with anencouraging waiver of a two million dollar price tag,Wedding Spectacular was born. It truly is an amazing story of how two in experiencedbachelors somehow how pulled off and start what hasbecome Jamaica's largest one-day Bridal Expo andShow. In 2013, Michelle Cotterell joined the team andbrought that missing element that only a female couldunderstand and deliver to the table. After all, there's noway two unmarried men would ever understand whatwomen have been dreaming about their entire livesfrom they were little play tea with Barbie and Ken.

And to our repeat participants, who sometimes calleven before we have a plan or a theme, THANK YOU.

Special thank you to our supporters who have beenhere since inception: Jamaica Observer, ScotiabankJamaica, Petals and Promises, Neah Lis, JamaicaWedding DJ's, Reggae tech, Blaktie Entertainment,RJR Group, White Lotus, Spokes Apparel, Marcia E.Roberts Photography, Salon Innovation, MetrodadeSecurity

Special thanks to: Cortia Bingham, Kara-AnnAnderson. Margaret Anderson, Marcia E. Robertsand Annette McDonnough

Thank you Haute People for putting together thisamazing magazine

To all our supporters, and brides who only comeonce , THANK YOU. THANK YOU. THANK YOU.

Sincerely,.

Director's Note

A news article discusses current or recent news of either gJust gotmarried? Congratulations! No doubt you’re looking forward to manyyears of blissful co-existence with your new spouse. One of the bestways to get your marriage off on the right footing is to establish somesimple financial guidelines that you both can abide by.

Relationship experts say that many marital arguments are aboutmoney, as very often it can be difficult for two people to agree onfinancial matters. Frustration, distrust, secrecy and fear are some of thenegative money emotions and behaviours that can wreck a wonderfulunion.

Let’s look at some ways in which you can organise your joint financesto strengthen your marriage instead of causing matrimonial strife.

Control spendingIf you still have wedding bills to pay in addition to the regularhousehold expenses, it is very important for you to take early controlof your spending. If you don’t create some boundaries for how yourmoney is used, you can be setting up yourselves for financialdifficulties in the future.

Make budgeting a habitA budget is like exercising - we all know we should but it’s all tooeasy to push it aside! Prepare a household budget to determine all yourmoney requirements and to allocate your income appropriately. Createthe habit of budgeting every month, and commit to your spendingplan.

Share money tasksManaging shared finances can sometimes be challenging, especially ifyou have different money styles. Be realistic about your strengths andshortcomings in deciding who should be responsible for getting thebills paid, balancing the chequebook and keeping records.

HOW TO GET YOURGROOM INVOLVEDIN PLANNING YOUR

WEDDING

Give Him Something he’s

interested in: All guys like Music!

Give him the job of selecting the

Music at the Reception. You can

both decide if you want a live

band or a D.J. Most grooms will

want to be involved in something

they actually like.

Give Him a Detailed List: Ladies, we know

guys hate confusion and like to have

things as simple as possible. Instead of

expecting him to read your mind, hand

him a clear list of what you want him to

do.

Bring on the Tears: This is a bit

unconventional but if you know when to

turn on those tears, it will get him to do

just about anything! After all, he can’t say

no to his one true love right?

Planning a Wedding should be fun time

for both the Bride and Groom and the

responsibilities can be shared equally.

Happy Planning!!!!

Most guys believe that after they

give their sweetheart that

bedazzling engagement ring all

he has to do is show up to the

alter. We don’t recommend this.

There are those one of a kind

exceptional guys who are

involved in every step of their

wedding planning and to those

men we salute you.

Here’s how to get your guy

involved in the Wedding

Planning process.

Your Wedding Day is one of the most memorable daysof your life and should be appreciated for what it is.Here are a few tips on how to be comfortable on yourWedding Day.Bring an extra pair of ShoesIt is always recommended for Brides to wearcomfortable shoes which are not always cute! If you area Glamorous Bride who prefers Heels to Flats, be sureto have an extra pair of Shoes that you can easily switchout.Leave the Lingerie for Wedding NightMost Ladies will want to wear her Lingerie under herWedding Dress, but that can be quite uncomfortable. After all the Wedding Jitters, Eating and Dancing youmight want to have something fresh for your specialnight.Ditch the ShapewearRemember the goal here is to be comfortable notconstipated. If you are planning on wearing yourfavourite pair of spanks or waist trainer, that is a badidea. Weddings can be fickle at times and imaginehaving to be tucked in for several hours not being ableto breathe. Not only is this a silly idea, it can also be adeadly one. You’ll look gorgeous without it and feeleven better.

Even though thisimportant task can be rather fun it can be also verynerve wracking for any bride. But don’t worry here is aguide to help you match your perfect dress with the besthairstyle so can look fabulous on your big day.

Dress Type: Strapless Hairstyle: Half UpdoMore than often the strapless dress requires detailsaround the neck but if you’re here for the dramaticnecklace the half updo is just for you. This look givesyou the opportunity to still add interest to your lovelyshoulders with its half up, half down style.Dress Type: Spaghetti Strap Hairstyle: Ballerina BunThere is no better way to complete this gorgeousspaghetti Strap look with a well put together ballerinabun. This look will not only elongates neck but it alsoprovides instant posture as well as it gives the bride toplay with accessories options.

Twenty years from now you willbe more disappointed by thethings you didn’t do than by theones you did do.

The Wedding is just a month away! You arefrantic and have lost sleep and hope itdoesn’t rain on the Big Day. There are a fewthings you should have left specifically forthis “down to the wire” time which are lessstressful than securing a Venue.

1 MONTH AWAY

Hair and Make-Up Trial: You have youramazing dress, flowers and food; you nowneed to finalize your beauty look. This isthe time to book your Hair and Make-UpTrial. Notice I said Trial and not the actualHair Stylist and Make-Up Artiste? Thatshould have been months ago. For asmooth process, bring print-outs of whatyou had in mind and play around with a fewlooks until you’ve found the one that suitsyou best.

3 DAYS AWAYFacial: Hydrating Facials arethe best option becausethey use targeted productsto make your complexionlook dewy and fresh. Stayaway from peels andextractions as these removethe top layer of the skin andusually leave your face redfor a few days. Using ahydrating at home FaceMask on the day of theWedding is also great toensure a natural healthyglow.

Furniture:While you ensure great tastingfood and wine is served at yourwedding, the furniture used inweddings also plays an importantrole in your guests’ experience. Asinvites are important, the furnitureused at your wedding should becomfortable, trendy and eyecatching. In the past year we’veseen a lot of the usual chivalrychairs being used, as the trendcontinues we must say the acrylicchivalry chairs will be a big hit in2016 especially at princess themedweddings paired with beautifulglassware, crockery and crystalcharges. Another big trend isRustic themed weddings whichincludes rectangular woodentables paired with a beautifulrunner

Hi Friends , so you ’re now engaged and overwhelmed with friends andfamily telling you what they ’d like to see at your wedding .VantageOne Event Rentals will tell you to simply smile , listen , takenotes , and then consult us

Lighting:Of all the décor options, lighting design isthe ultimate element that will set the tonefor your wedding. The lighting conditions atyour wedding and reception venue, canaffect what your décor looks like. The trendcontinues as seen in 2015 with vintagechandeliers, café string lights, uniqueclusters of Chinese lanterns paired withminimal up lighting

Centre Pieces:For 2016 we say mix and match your centerpieces, using alternating centerpieces withthree level arrangements is a big trend. Halfof the reception tables featuring largecenterpieces showcasing flowers in selectcolors, while the other half can hold trios ofmini arrangements. Pulling the eye todifferent levels creates a flow throughoutthe room, which gives your reception lots ofvisual interest. In addition to the flowers, wrap plain containers in pretty fabric tomatch your wedding colors.

For a unique twist, choosedifferent patterns in the samecolors, or go with similar patterns.Instead of a plain square or roundglass vase, opt for unusual, sexiershapes, often with more curves.Another trend you must try in2016 is the metallic vase; this initself is a versatile trend that willsuit just about any theme.

If you want to be morerelaxed and natural in front ofthose “Flashing Lights” hereare 3 tips to keep you majorlyrelaxed while yourphotographer snaps away.Get to know your photographerInstead of meeting thePhotographer on the day of theshoot, how about an In-personor Video Chat? This will giveyou a feel of their personalityso you can decide if they are thebest fit. Working with a personyou know or at least met willmake you feel morecomfortable in front of theCamera.Headlines can be used to focusthe reader’s attention on aparticular (or main) part of thearticle. The writer can also givefacts and detailed informationfollowing answers to generalquestions like who, what, when, where, why and how.

Take Engagement and WeddingPhotos with the samePhotographerThink of your EngagementPhotos as a test run for the BigDay; hire the same person whowill photograph your big day. You'll spend the shoot reallygetting to know the photog andhis or her style. Plus, you cansee the engagement imagesbefore the wedding and sharewhat you love and don't love.By the time the big day comesaround, you'll feel so muchmore relaxed knowingeveryone's on the same page.

Practice, Practice, PracticeConsider making your mirroryour bestie, well only duringthis time. Practice posing andsmiling in front of your mirrorso that by the time your big dayrolls around you will be a pro!If you have a few poses downand know how to smile on cueyou will be much more relaxed.Do not wait on the day trying tofigure out how to pose and findyour best angle. Ask a friend oryour partner to snap somephotos (not selfies) just so youcan practice posing.
