Asbestos and the Defence Sector

Defence sector procurement is by its very nature a challenging process. From initial notice, through Pre-Qualification, Invitation to Tender, Interview and Appointment, the defence client has a vast amount of information to convey, to collect, to analyse and to collate. Given Merryhill’s experience and background in defence sector asbestos removal, we hold significant amounts of information that you will require in coherent and sector friendly format.

We speak your language, and understand that your procurement process is intensive, and requires a lot of collaboration and help from the contractor. Our Project Managers are defence experienced, and you will have a single source of contact for the entire procurement process, a valuable element for you in ensuring continuity of information and highly valuable for us in being able to listen comprehensively to your requirements.

Added Value | Open book accounting is a concept which is being adopted at an ever increasing rate within the construction industry. Our approach is best value, the ethos of partnering, and when used in conjunction with best practice Sustainable Supply Chain management, the potential to bring about significant cost savings.

We expect to establish a certain level of trust, so that we are able to work closely and openly together in a relationship of mutual benefit. We believe that by agreeing to focus on savings made during the duration of this project, team members including ourselves have an incentive to maximise efficiencies and work together to achieve best value for you.

Vetting | Merryhill Envirotec complies fully with both the Government’s and individual clients’ protective security procedures and therefore all Merryhill employees who require regular access to site and who are to be issued with a site pass, will be subject to a client’s security vetting or a CRB check. Over 60% of our operational staff currently hold various levels of defence security clearance for numerous MoD sites, and that number continues to grow as we establish long term defence partnerships.

We understand that one of the priority needs of Defence Sector Authorities is to have contractors that can work collaboratively within a closely knit team-based environment.

The defence environment is going to provide complex environmental challenges. At Merryhill, we are committed to creating best practice environmental management solutions, and lead the asbestos removal industry in sustainable solutions. We feel there is scope for us to design asbestos removal solutions that reflect the and enhance the environmental in your sector.

Merryhill have over the last 2 years removed asbestos under high risk conditions from the following locations, amongst others on MoD sites, on contracts ranging from £1000 to £450,000;

We hold positions on 2 defence frameworks, and are approved supply chain contractors for 7 of the top 20 UK main contractors who undertake defence works.
