  • Message from the Headteacher

Key Values: Innovation, Confidence, Aspiration, Respect, Enthusiasm

    Dear Parents

Thank you to those who attended the Summer Soiree on Wednesday evening. The programme clearly displayed the many talents of

the pupils and I would like to thank the Music department for putting together the programme and supporting the pupils. Particular

thanks go to Mr Brown for organising the lighting. Good luck to those pupils taking the Music Associated exams next week. As you

may know we have the Roots of Rhythm Festival taking place in school next week and we are looking forward to jazz workshops and

Live Music, poet Ash Dickinson and the world famous folk musician Eliza Carthy leading sessions all day on Friday. We also have hands-

on workshops with the Hull City Gamelan on both days led by Laurence Rugg.

    Hull 10K

There are a large number of staff and pupils taking part in this Sunday's Hull

10K. We are running in memory of Hope Rooms who sadly passed away in

February 2016. Thank you to everyone who has donated so far. You can sup-

port us here, please click on this link

    Extended Projects

All pupils in Years 7, 8 and 9 have met their mentors this week to dis-

cuss the extended project. Please take time to discuss the project at

home and help your child to prepare for the presentations taking

    place on Wednesday 6 July.

    Sports

There are still a large number of sporting fixtures taking place and I do

hope that you will be able to join us at Sports Day. Well done to the

    Rounder’s teams whom mostly are

    undefeated this season.

    Gifted and Talented

On Thursday 29 June we are holding the Gifted and Talented Conference at HCS. This is a day when

over one hundred pupils from across the county will attend sessions that both inspire and ignite a

passion for learning and understanding. Thank you to Mr Stephenson, the Advanced Performance

Coordinator, for organising this event. You will find the Aspire magazine through the school website

which highlights outstanding work across the school and within all subjects.
