Message from the President: Dear Family & Friends: In April, we were glad to once again host The Bailey Scholars Reception honoring the new 2019 High School Scholarship winners. We enjoy the tradition of meeting our new recipients. Please see some of the photos to the right. We’ve already started prepping for the 2020 Scholarship Program that starts January 1 st . If you know someone that would make an excellent candidate, please spread the word – deadline is February 28 th . We hope you enjoy this edition of the Newsletter. I’d like to thank everyone who contributed. We truly enjoy hearing about what you’ve been up to. Good luck to everyone who headed back to class this Fall and let me be the first to wish you and your family a wonderful holiday season. Message from the President:

Dear Family & Friends:

In April, we were glad to once again host The Bailey Scholars Reception honoring the new 2019 High School Scholarship winners. We enjoy the tradition of meeting our new recipients. Please see some of the photos to the right.

We’ve already started prepping for the 2020 Scholarship Program that starts January 1st. If you know someone that

would make an excellent candidate, please spread the word – deadline is February 28th.

We hope you enjoy this edition of the Newsletter. I’d like to thank everyone who contributed. We truly enjoy hearing about what you’ve been up to.

Descendants of George Patton Bailey: Adkins (Bailey), Mona “Lisa”: died on September 28, 2019 in Johnson City, TN. Her family writes, “Lisa had a gift, she could remember every joke she ever heard and could make anyone laugh. We hope that remembering her will bring a smile to your face.”

Scholarship Recipients and Friends of the Foundation:Arnold, Mikaela: graduated from the University of Tampa in May 2019 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts and a major in Digital Arts. She writes, “Thank you for allowing me to achieve my dreams.” Mikaela is a 2013 Bailey Scholar.

Bell, Melony: graduated with a BBA (Summa Cum Laude) in June 2019 from Strayer University in Charlotte, NC. She writes, “I will never forget the beautiful blessing and gift and I continue to be philanthropically involved in my community. I want Mr. Bailey and the Bailey Foundation Team to know that your faith in me was not lost and I will be forever grateful. I’m the first one in my family to graduate.”

Glisson, Michael: celebrated his 70th birthday with family and friends at Coppertail Brewery. Michael has been a scholarship evaluator for over 15 years.

Graham, David: graduated in May 2019 from the University of Florida with a Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science – Animal Biology.

Kendrick, Brittany: was presented the HS Program Scholarship award at Montcalm High School in West Virginia by scholarship evaluator, and Bailey Family member, Robert Youther.

Lentini, Logan: graduated from The University of Florida in August 2019 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Applied Physiology & Kinesiology and a Minor in Disabilities in Society. Logan is a 2015 Bailey Scholar.

Martin (Tran) Ly: married Michael Martin on March 8, 2019. Ly is a 2009 Bailey Scholar. She writes, “Thank you for being a part of our American Dream.”

Milano, Todd: visits his son Captain Hale Milano on his sailboat named “Elysian Pearl.” Hale is a 2018 MBA graduate of Strayer University’s JWMI and Foundation evaluator Todd Milano served on the board of Strayer University for over 22 years.

Montrose, Dominique: graduated in May 2019, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy from the University of Florida.

Nassir, Nejat: graduated in May 2019 from the University of Tampa with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. She writes, “Thank you for your support over these past years. Your foundation has went above and beyond and supported us to achieve great things. I dedicate my success to the amazing work the Bailey Family Foundation has done.”

Osborne, Eloise: was born September 4, 2019 to James and Leandra Osborne and is the first grandchild of Laura Osborne, the Foundation’s Financial Analyst.

Servello, Yumeilys: graduated from the University of South Florida in May 2019 with Bachelor of Science Degree in Health Sciences (Concentrations in Behavioral and Biological Health). She writes, “Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for investing in my future. Thank you for taking me in when I was just a high school student that didn’t know what she wanted out of life. Thank you for believing in me at a time when I had just started believing in myself. Thank you for wanting only my success and having my best interest at heart. Thanks to you all, I can proudly say that I am the very first college graduate in my family. And I will be able to speak of this beautiful experience for the rest of my life. Thank you, BFF!”

Stafford, Blake: graduated in May 2019 from Flagler College majoring in Strategic Communication and double minoring in Advertising and Youth Ministry. He writes, “I could not have done this without the assistance of the BFF Scholarship and for that I am eternally grateful. Thank you for taking the chance on me and investing in my bright future. I am truly blessed by your generosity.”

Tesmer, Floyd: celebrated his Silver Anniversary with his wife, Milagros, in Lima, Peru. Floyd is an evaluator for the Foundation.

Rays of HopeThe Foundation supports The Rays of Hope Community Outreach Program, and their mission to provide positive guidance to the young adults, while motivating and encouraging them to excel as they strive to reach their educational goals. Rays of Hope in Washington, DC
