Happy Sunday! I am so excited about all the amazing things our students are doing in their classrooms, and you'll see lots of evidence of this in the newsleer this week. We're also looking forward to the FUN RUN this Friday! I hope all our students are eager to parcipate; it's one of the most fun days of the year, and it's a great way to show our school spirit by helping our school. Here are some things we've noced that we all really need to work on. Please connue to follow all the carpool rules. Don't line up early and block the roads around our school. Don't block entrances to our neighbors' businesses. Don't park in undesignated areas and walk your child to school. These are all aempts to circumvent the carpool system and they have a very negave impact on the process AND they're dangerous. Remember that you are seng a bad example for your child when you purposely don't follow our carpool rules. Please help us get all students to and from school safely. If you do not, we will set up a meeng with you to discuss your lack of compliance. Along those same lines, we've seen an increase in tardy students lately. This puts your child at a disadvantage because they are missing out on valuable instrucon. It's also a disrupon for every other student in your child's class when he or she comes in late, and it negavely impacts our teachers' abilies to control the flow of their lessons. Each teacher has different consequences for tardy students and there are school consequences as well, so please don't punish your child because you put them in a tardy situaon. We are working to promote strong, posive students who follow the rules and respect each other. Please support our goals with grace and good cheer; we're all working toward producing amazing young people! Let's have a great week of school! Becky Draper, Ed.D. Principal

Message from the Principal

Hey, Cardinals! Happy Sunday! I am so excited about all the amazing things our students are doing in their classrooms, and you'll see lots of evidence of this in the newsletter this week. We're also looking forward to the FUN RUN this Friday! I hope all our students are eager to participate; it's one of the most fun days of the year, and it's a great way to show our school spirit by helping our school.

Here are some things we've noticed that we all really need to work on. Please continue to follow all the carpool rules. Don't line up early and block the roads around our school. Don't block entrances to our neighbors' businesses. Don't park in undesignated areas and walk your child to school. These are all attempts to circumvent the carpool system and they have a very negative impact on the process AND they're dangerous. Remember that you are setting a bad example for your child when you purposely don't follow our carpool rules. Please help us get all students to and from school safely. If you do not, we will set up a meeting with you to discuss your lack of compliance.

Along those same lines, we've seen an increase in tardy students lately. This puts your child at a disadvantage because they are missing out on valuable instruction. It's also a disruption for every other student in your child's class when he or she comes in late, and it negatively impacts our teachers' abilities to control the flow of their lessons. Each teacher has different consequences for tardy students and there are school consequences as well, so please don't punish your child because you put them in a tardy situation.

We are working to promote strong, positive students who follow the rules and respect each other. Please support our goals with grace and good cheer; we're all working toward producing amazing young people!

Let's have a great week of school!

Library Notes—New

Dear parents,

As our new school library continues to grow, we have to all work together to safeguard the wonderful books

that are being added to the collection on an almost daily basis. When students come to check out books,

they are assigned a two-week window to read their book before they have to return it to the library. If a stu-

dent loses a book, then it’s his or her responsibility to replace the copy for the library.

Here are some tips to help keep track of the CCA library books: Please check in with your students and ask

them about what they are reading. Showing an interest in their book choices will inspire them to read more.

It might also help to pick a designated spot at home where library books can be kept, or have your child

create a handwritten reminder to put in a high traffic area of your home. As we get ready to start a new

week, check in with your student about whether or not they have any books that need to be returned to the

library. Our library is an important addition to our CCA community, so let’s work together to keep the books

in circulation!

Carpool 1. USE CARPOOL LANES, PERIOD. DO NOT DROP STUDENTS

OFF along St. Charles Place or Maynard Rd. or in ANY business parking lot — bank, dentist, restaurant, etc. MORNING = ZIPPER MERGE: THIS MEANS ONE CAR FROM EACH OF TWO LANES MERGE INTO ONE LANE.

2. DO NOT PARK ON GRANDE HEIGHTS BEFORE 2:45pm. Parents of athletes cannot get onto campus

to pick their students up and get them to games/meets on time.

Educational Outfitters

Educational Outfitters has a ton of pants, skorts, and shorts with the CSUSA logo on them. Since they are not useable by any other school, EO would like to offer them to our families for a significant 50% off. All are new with tags!

Backpack Buddies—Updated

Backpack Buddies provides students at CCA with nutritious meals on the weekends, when free and reduced lunches are not available.

If you are interested in volunteering, please contact parent volunteer Melanie Daryani ([email protected]).
