Magical MayMay Word Search

Did you know? May 1 is Batman Day. The unofficial holiday celebrates the well-known comic book superhero. The general consensus is that the day commemorates the date in 1939 when the crime fighter made his debut in the Detective Comics #27.

Are you a Star Wars fan? Do you celebrate May the Fourth each

year with your fellow Star Wars fans? While stuck in quarantine

there are plenty of ways to celebrate this fan favorite ‘holiday’.

Fans of the popular film franchise have found many ways

to celebrate this pun on the famous saying, “May the Force

be with you.” From dressing up in homemade Stormtrooper

costumes to watching the original Star Wars Trilogy on repeat,

there’s no wrong way to celebrate Star Wars Day. Bust out

those VHS tapes and dust off your lightsabers; May the Force

(and the Fourth!) be with you on Star Wars Day!

An Abbreviated History of Memorial DayHave you ever wondered why we celebrate Memorial Day at the end of May? Have you ever

thought about the resoning behind Memorial Day? Here’s an abbreivated history on this

traditional May holiday. Originally known as Decoration Day, Memorial Day has its origins in

the years following the Civil War. Memorial Day became an official federal holiday in 1971.

There are many ways Americans observe Memorial Day including visiting cemeteries, holding

family gatherings and picnics, and participating in local parades. Unofficially, Memorial Day

marks the beginning of the summer grilling and barbecue season.
