Experiencing joy and rejoice• Say, "In the bounty of Allah and in His mercy —

therein let them rejoice. It is better than what they hoard. (Yunus 10:58)

• Those who fast will have two times at which they will feel happy: When they break their fast, they feel happy for breaking the fast, and when they meet their Lord, they will be happy because of their fast"(Bukhari and Muslim)

• Ramadan is a test from Almighty Allah. • At the end of the month, we experience a great

sense of achievement and closeness to Allah. • It is the joy of spiritual fulfillment.

Receiving the great rewards of obeying Allah(SWT)

• It is reported in a Prophetic Hadith that, on the day of `Eid Al-Fitr, the angels stand on both sides of the roads and proclaim,

• "O believers, walk toward your Lord, Who is the Most Generous. He favors you with goodness and gives you great reward. He commanded you to pray during the night and fast during the day. Now that you have obeyed Him, come and receive your rewards."As the believers finish the `Eid Prayer, the angels say,

• "Allah has forgiven you. Return to your homes with the best of good and glad tidings. This is the day of reward. This day is called the day of reward in heaven as well." (At-Tabarani)

Page 10: Message of eidul fitr

Maintaining ties of kinship

• The Prophet said, "Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day should maintain good relations with his or her kindred" (Bukhari and Muslim).

• Eid Al-Fitr is a day when Muslims become more keen on visiting their relatives and friends.

• In the process, they exchange greetings and maintain ties of kinship.

• We should all visit our relatives or at least call them. • Muslim brothers and sisters  should greet one

another by saying "Happy `Eid" or "May Allah accept your good deeds and ours

Page 11: Message of eidul fitr

Taking Care of the Poor and the Needy

• Almighty Allah commanded us to take care of the needy, the poor, and the orphans throughout the year,

• Taking care of them during `Eid Al-Fitr and `Eid Al-Adha is given greater emphasis.

• Allah and His Prophet instructed us to fulfill the needs of the poor and the needy by paying Zakatul Fitr and sharing food and clothings

• This helps less fortunate amongst us to celebrate the joy of Eidul Fitr with others and not be deprived of its happiness.

Page 15: Message of eidul fitr

Morning of Eidul Fitr(Long Hadith reported by Targheeb)• Prophet (SAW) is reported to have said: • “And then the night of Eidul fitr, the night that is

called Laylatul Jaa’izah(night of prize giving), comes along.

• On the morning of Eid Allah sends down the angels to all the cities of the earth where they take their positions at access points of roads, calling out with a voice that is heard by all except man and jinn,

• “O Ummah of Muhammad(SAW), come forth from your houses towards a Lord that is noble and gracious, who grants much and pardons the major sins.”

Page 16: Message of eidul fitr

Proceeding to Eid Salah• Allah says to the Malaa’ikah: • “What indeed is the reward of that employee who had

rendered his services?” • The Malaa’ikah reply’ “O Lord and Master, it is only right

that he should receive his reward in full for his services.”• Allah then says, “I call you to witness, O My angels, that for

their having fasted during the month of Ramadan, and for their having stood in prayer by night, I have granted to them as reward My pleasure and have granted them forgiveness.

• O My servants ask now of Me, for I swear by My honor and My greatness, that whatsoever you shall beg of me this day in this assembly of yours for the needs of the Hereafter and this world, I shall grant you

Page 17: Message of eidul fitr

Allah (SWT) grants rewards to the believers• “By My honor I swear, as long as you shall obey my

commands, I shall cover your faults. • By My honor and by My greatness do I swear that I

shall never disgrace you among the evil-doing ones and disbelievers.

• Depart now from here, you are forgiven. You have pleased Me, and I am pleased with you.

• The Malaa’ikah upon seeing this great reward bestowed by Allah upon the Ummah of Muhammad (SAW) on the day of Eidul Fitr become greatly pleased and happy.”

• (Hadith-Targheeb Munzari)
