THE GOSPEL OF MARK-A verse by verse study of the basic teachings of Jesus. THE UPPER ROOM—is a lively, discussion based class. Thoughts, ideas and wisdom are shared each week. We are very pleased to share The Upper Room Bible Study via Podcast. Our mission is to lead a comprehensive understanding of the Word of God. ASK ANYTHING-this class centers around a box where you can submit your questions about anything! Each week we use the Bible to find biblically based answers to all of our questions.
GMC– It’s time to refresh and rediscover what it means to be “like Jesus” and find true authenticity, a healthy self-image, and compassion for others in an age when we relate to each other so differently than ever before. This study looks at the effects of social media on our emotions and friendships. It also offers real-life examples of how we struggle with screens and likes and how these things mask our struggles with who we really are, and how we can reclaim a Christ-centered life. MOSAICS-Messiah Mosaics is a class geared at anyone in their 30s or 40s, married or single. This is a discussion based class that examines how God's Word influences our daily walk with Christ. MEET MESSIAH-If you would like to know about Messiah, meet at the Guest Information Desk at 9:30am. A few of our members will take you on a tour of our campus and answer questions you may have about our church.

SUNDAY NURSERY-An attended nursery for infants until walking steadily is in the Education Building, E123N. Care for steady walkers through age 3 is in room E125N. Caregivers available from 8:00am – 12:15pm. We also have a cry room located at the back of the Sanctuary.

FAMILY LENT SERIES begins on Ash Wednesday, Feb. 26th and continues each Wednesday at 6:00pm in the Chapel through March 25th. The theme is Star Words, where we will explore True Hope through some of the
most important words in any galaxy: Sin, Love, Grace, Forgiveness, Belief & Faithfulness.
CELEBRATE A CHRISTIAN PASSOVER this Easter season! Rather than the traditional egg hunt, bring your family and invite your friends to
explore the even older tradition of the Seder meal. Passover begins in the middle of Holy Week, the day before Maundy Thursday. Our large group Christian Seder meal will be Wednesday, April 1st. Families will take home material to plan their own Seder at home. Talk to Amy to be part of the prep and planning team.

THE PRIMETIMERS DAYTRIPPERS will be going to the Cavanaugh Flight Museum in Addison on Thursday, March 19th, at 10:30. We need to meet at the museum’s entrance and sign in by 10:15. The tour will last approximately 1 ¼ hours. The tour includes four buildings, an art gallery, and more. The cost is $6.00 per person and is payable at sign up. Messiah Serves: Social Ministries and Outreach Touching Lives Through Christ
Braille Ministry - at Messiah Lutheran Church Throughout FEBRUARY Help Bring the Light of Jesus To the Blind Messiah’s Braille Production Center is part of national Lutheran Braille Workers (LBW). Teams from Messiah, Lord of Life, and St Paul Lutheran Churches meet for 1.5 - 2 hours once per month. We currently produce 15 books of “Luke” and 20 books each of “Matthew I & II”, monthly. In 2019, we sent 660 Bible Braille books throughout the world. We could produce many more with your help. Lutheran braille workers need additional funds to replace outdated equipment. Lutheran Braille Workers (LBW) was founded in 1943. Publications are distributed free of charge in more than 130 countries around the globe. Lutheran Braille Workers produces Braille Bibles in Amharic, Arabic, French, Indonesian, Kiswahili, Latvian, Malayalam, Russian, Spanish, and English Contracted Braille. In addition to offering Christian materials in over 30 languages, our continuous goal is to add more languages. There are more than 35 million people throughout the world
who are blind, and an additional 205+ million people who are severely visually impaired. Volunteers, mission-minded financial partners, and prayer warriors assist LBW in helping people teach the promises of Jesus, delivering God’s Word in formats they can read for themselves. LUTHERAN WORLD RELIEF DISASTER RELIEF KITS Lutheran World Relief Disaster Relief kit items are being collected dur-ing February. If you are willing to help, we need the following items for each kit: Light weight dark bath towels, 2- 8- or 9-ounce sized bars of soap, one adult size toothbrush individually packaged, one sturdy comb, and one metal nail clipper. room next to the Gift Shop. All proceeds from this sale go to mission groups in our community and help us with the expense of Lutheran World Relief projects.
MARCH 28, 2020: A SPECIAL WOMEN'S EVENT FEATURING DONNA PYLE, "Perseverance: Praying Through Life's Challenges". Donna is an author, a blogger, and a speaker who attends Salem Lutheran Church in Tomball, Texas. She is on the Board of Directors of Camp Lone Star and volunteers for Love 146, which seeks to end child trafficking and exploitation. You can check out her videos on YouTube and her books on the Concordia Publishing website. The cost for the event is $10 to cover snacks and lunch. We do need a head count so please sign up in advance at the LWML table or with one of our members. There will be an "ingathering" of money and items for Triton's Comfort Dog Ministry at the event.
THIRD THURSDAY MINISTRY – Reaching Out in Our Community-The Women’s Thursday Bible study began a ministry that reaches out to the people at the Plano Day Labor Site. They hand out DART passes, water, and even some bedrolls to a few people who are homeless. This is funded by the members of the class, but they would like to invite anyone interested to be a part of this outreach through support with prayer, monetary donations, or other needs as they arise. If you’d like to donate to this ministry, make checks to Messiah Lutheran Church, write “Third Thursday” in the memo line, and place in the Sunday collection plate. Attention Thrivent Members: This is a reminder to those of you who have not directed your 2019 Choice Dollars. Please do so as soon as you can no later than March 31st. Any 2019 dollars not directed by members by that date will no longer be available for direction. The directed Choice Dollars make a big difference in our ability to support Messiah's ministries and to support the Messiah Lambs school. Dollars can be directed to the Messiah congregation where they will be used for special ministries and/or they can be directed to the Messiah Lambs school. Choices are available on the Thrivent website when you log in to direct your Choice Dollars.
You can go online to" www.Thrivent.com/choice dollars" to check your account and direct your Choice Dollars. If you are unfamiliar with the website operation you can always call Thrivent at 800-847-4836 and say "Choice Dollars" at the prompt.
