The Metavision-108N series is designed to deliver industry-leading performance across the widest range of industries, applications and environments. The truly innovative design delivers rapid, precise, accurate and certifiable elemental analysis in weight percentages of metals and stands the test of time.

Using high-resolution CCD detectors, the Metavision-108N series analyses the entire spectrum in the wavelength range of 160 to 780 nm. In this range are found the entire gamut of critical elements – whether for ferrous or non-ferrous metals and their alloys. The unique optics design makes the Metavision-108N series the only spectrometers in their class that offer such a wide range of analytical capabilities – including Nitrogen, Sodium, Potassium and Lithium.

A tailored solution to deliver quality

allowing small and large samples to be mounted with ease. We currently provide calibrations in a wide range of bases – Fe, Cu, Al, Zn, Ni, Pb, Sn, Mg, Co, Zr and Ti. More bases can be added to meet specific customer requirements.

In addition, Metal Power provides Applications expertise, training and support to the analyst to obtain precise and accurate analytical results that would stand any nature of scrutiny.

The CCD based Metavision-108N series spectrometers are compact, consume less energy and argon, are more economical to operate and maintain and deliver precision and accuracy of the highest order. Routine maintenance requirements are minimal and the instruments are designed to be operable by laymen after basic training delivered at the time of installation.

Operating Software – The AnalystOur operating and applications suite, The Analyst, is designed to set the benchmark on user-friendliness while being powerful and flexible. Features, functionality and interface have been designed to meet the needs of analysts as well as Management.

Users are given the ability to change the sequence of elements to suit their needs and also to remove elements that may not be considered necessary or required for specific analyses. The Grades and CRMs (Standards) Libraries, with search facility, give analysts an added edge in executing their role.

Standard report templates are provided and the Flexible Report Writer-Designer also offers a powerful tool to design and customize report formats. Our Applications Lab constantly expands and enhances The Analyst and all customers are assured of free upgrades for a period of two years.

All elements in a sample emit light simultaneously when the sample is subjected to a high voltage using a silver or tungsten counter-electrode. Since a metal alloy has many elements, the emitted light appears as ‘white’ light. Each element has its own set of characteristic wavelength.

When the white light is focused on a holographic grating (the latest in optical technology), this white light is diffracted (broken) into its component wavelengths which are in turn focused on one or more microchips, each consisting of 3,704 light sensitive diodes, known as a Charged Couple Device (CCD).

As the intensity of light is proportional to the concentration of the corresponding element, analytical curves are generated by running Certified Reference Materials (CRMs), also known as Primary Standards. These curves (one for each element) are stored in a computer’s memory. When an unknown metal sample is run, the software takes over and referring the respective intensities to the curves stored in the memory, gives the elemental concentrations as direct weight percentages.
