HISTORY OF METEOR

• Originally called Skybreak and debuted on December 1, 2011

• Stealth Participant of S11 Y Combinator Class• Raised $11.2 million– Led by Andreessen Horowitz

• Late 2012 – rolled out User Accounts• Team Consists of great engineers from

CloudFlare, ActBlue, Asana, Google, and many others.

METEOR FACTS

• Built on top of Node.js• Runs on both Client and Server side• Fully reactive & real-time• Makes use of all JS libraries you’re already

familiar with (jQuery, Underscore, Handlebars)• Works with MongoDB for the time being• Distributed Data Protocol
