THE

CUTS!

TAX

THE

RICH!

Only the

Communist

Party puts

workers, pensioners, the

unemployed, single parents and the

disabled FIRST.

Ahead of big business profits, the

rich, privatisation and war.

That is why we OPPOSE all cuts in

public spending, services, jobs,

pensions and benefits.

Britain is one of the richest

countries in the world. But one-

tenth of the population own more than half that wealth.

A Wealth Tax on the super-rich

would fund all the investment we

need in public services, industry,

housing, public transport and the

environment.

WE CAN AFFORD FIRST-CLASS

PUBLIC SERVICES, PENSIONS

AND BENEFITS by fair taxes on

the rich and big business profits.

No to Cuts! Tax the Rich! Vote Communist

Merthyr Communists

were actively involved

against the Ffos Y Fran

opencast mine project,

attending all meetings,

speaking against the

development at the

public enquiry, picketing

the site and

demonstrating through

Merthyr town and at the

Welsh Assembly.

Merthyr communists

also travelled to London

and attended the court

hearing at the "Law

Courts" (Royal Courts of

Justice) and won the

hearing. Unfortunately,

after a long battle against

Westminster, the Welsh

Government and Merthyr

council the battle was

lost.

But Merthyr communists

were on the winning side

in the victory against the

Covanta's Brig Y Cwm

incinerator plans. This

campaign against the huge

incinerator united people

from all communities in

Merthyr Tydfil and

Rhymney, people from all

backgrounds and of all

shades of political

opinion, and

demonstrated that ‘unity

is strength’

Vaynor and

Town.

CATRIN

ASHTON

(Bedlinog) is

from a

longstanding

Bedlinog family,

she is an

executive committee member of the

Welsh Communist Party, a cultural

worker and founding member of

Cymdaithas Niclas.

TOMMY ROBERTS (Town) a

former bricklayer, is a leading

activist in the building workers union

UCATT and is the secretary of

Merthyr Tydfil Trades Union

Council.

ROY EVANS (Vaynor) is a leading

activist in 'Keep Our NHS Public'

and was a prominent member of the

Anti-Open Cast Mining campaign, a

former engineering union convener

and President of Merthyr Tydfil

Trades Union Council.

From left, Roy Evans, Catrin Ashton and Tommy Roberts under

the memorial of Merthyr comrades who fought and died fighting

Franco’s fascists in Spain.

COMMUNIST POLICIES FOR MERTHYR

1. More public sector housing at affordable rents.

2. Compulsory take-over of empty office accommodation.

3. Investment in the public transport system linking the town with outlying areas.

4. Council-led drive for investment in clean technology and an increase in recycling.

5. A council-led drive for jobs and facilities for disabled workers.

6. More funding for domestic violence refuges.

7. Higher council tax rates for top-band properties.

8. No more outsourcing or privatisation of council services.

9. Careful use of council reserves to protect jobs and services.

Merthyr’s communists support more democracy at street & community level, with real involvement in local

projects.

FOLLOWING A

FINE MERTHYR

TRADITION

Communists have a long

involvement of struggle

within Merthyr Tydfil and

have been recognised by

the people by voting in

well respected and

effective councillors like

Arthur Jones and Edgar

Evans.

8. Dim mwy o gytundebau allanol na phreifateiddio gwasanaethau’r Cyngor.

9. Defnydd gofalus o gronfeydd wrthgefn y Cyngor er mwyn amddiffyn swyddi a

gwasanaethau.

10. Uchafswm pendant ar dreuliau a lwfansau’r Cynghorwyr.

Cefnoga Comiwnyddion Merthyr mwy o ddemocratiaeth ar lefel gymunedol.

Mae’r Blaid Gomiwnyddol

Gymraeg yn brwydro dros dri

ward yn yr etholiadau sir ym

Merthyr ar y 3ydd o Fai:

Bedlinog, Vaynor a’r Dref.

Mae CATRIN ASHTON

(Bedlinog) yn dod o deulu sydd

a chysylltiadau cryf ym Medlinog

ers cenhedloedd. Mae hi’n

aelod o Bwyllgor Gweithredol

Cymru y Blaid Gomiwnyddol, yn

weithiwr diwylliannol ac yn un

o’r aeoldau fu’n gyfrifol am

sefydlu Cymdeithas Nicals.

Mae TOMMY ROBERTS (y

Dref) yn adeiladwr gynt, ac yn

un o’r ymgyrchwyr mwyaf

blaenllaw gydag undeb yr

adeiladwyr UCATT. Ef yw

Ysgrifennydd Cyngor Masnachol

Merthyr Tudful.

Mae ROY EVANS (Vaynor) yn

ymgyrchydd blaenllaw gyda

‘Cadwch ein Gwasanaeth Iechyd

Genedlaethol yn Gyhoeddus’ a

bu’n aelod blaenllaw o’r

ymgyrch yn erbyn y Cloddio

Agored yn Ffos y Fran. Roedd

yn gynullydd gydag undeb y

peirianwyr ac ef oedd Arlywydd

Cyngor Masnachol Merthyr

Tudful.

O’r chwith i’r dde: yr ymgeiswyr Roy Evans, Catrin

Ashton a Tommy Roberts o dan cofeb ar gyfer

cymrodwyr a frwydrodd, a bu farw, tra’n ymladd

Ffasgwyr Franco yn Sbaen.

Ymgeiswyr Comiwnyddol – pobl leol nid gwleidyddion sy’n poeni am eu gyrfa

Roedd Comiwnyddion

Merthyr yn gryf yn erbyn

cynllun cloddio agored Ffos y

Fran. Teithiodd rhai o’r

Comiwnyddion i Lundain er

mwyn bod yn bresenol yn y

llys ar gyfer y gwrandawiad.

Yn anffodus, wedi brwydyr

hir yn erbyn Sansteffan, y

Llywodraeth yng Nghymru a

Chyngor Merthyr, collwyd yr

achos.

Serch hynny, roedd

Comiwnyddion Merthyr ar yr

ochr fuddugol yn y frwydyr yn

erbyn Covanta a’u cynlluniau

ar gyfer Llosgydd Brig y Cwm.

Unodd yr ymgyrch bobl o

bob cymuned ym Merthyr a

Rhymni, pobl o bob cefndir a

gogwydd gwleidyddol gan

brofi mai ‘mewn undeb mae

nerth’.

HANES O YMGYRCHU

Y TRADDODIAD

COMIWNYDDOL YM

MERTHYR

Mae gan Gomiwnyddion hanes

hir o frwydro ac ymgyrchu ym

Merthyr Tudful a chydnabyddwyd

hynny gan bobl Merthyr wrth

iddynt bleidleiso drostynt yn y

gorffennol.

Page 4: Methyr CP Red Alert Election Special

Cefnoga’r prif bleidiau yr un math o bolisiau ar y 3ydd o

Fai:

TORIADAU MEWN GWASANAETHAU

CYHOEDDUS: Trefnwyd £130 mewn toriadau ar

wariant gyhoeddus gan y llywodraeth Lafur ddiweddaf.

Mae’r glymblaid Dorïaidd-Ryddfrydol wedi ychwanegu

£83 biliwn at y toriadau hynny.

DISWYDDIADAU ARUTHROL: Erbyn hyn mae

diweithrda yng Nghymru ac ym Mhrydain bron a

chyrraedd 3 miliwn, yn cynnwys 1 miliwn o bobl ifainc.

TORIADAU MEWN BUDD-DALIADAU: Mae

pensiynwyr, rhieni sengl, yr anabl a’r diwaith wedi cael

eu bwrw gan y toriadau hyn.

DIM RHEOLAETH DROS GOSTAU: Mae’r

cwmnïau nwy, trydan, olew ac archfarchnadoedd yn

ennill arian ar drail y bobl.

TORIADAU MEWN TRETH I’R BUSNESAU

MAWR: Mae’r llywodraethau Llafur a’r llywodraeth

Doriaidd-Ryddfrydol wedi torri treth gorfforaethol fel

ei fod, erbyn hyn, llawer yn is nag yn yr Unol

Dalieithau, Ffrainc ,Yr Almaen a Siapan.

GWASTRAFFU BYWYDAU AC ARIAN AR

RYFEL: Cefnoga’r tair prif blaid ryfel yn Affganistan a

mwy o arfau niwclear i Brydain.

YM MERTHYR MAE’R CYGNOR YN

GORFODI’R GWEITHWYR I DALU’R PRIS:

Mae’r Cyngor ym Merthyr, sydd wedi ei reoli gan

gynghorwyr annibynnol, wedi torri cyflogau ac amodau

gwaith gweithwyr y sir drwy orfodu iddynt gymeryd

gwyliau di-dâl.

YDYN NHW’N SIARAD AR EICH RHAN CHI?

Dosbarthwyd yn rhad ac am ddim i 5,000 o gartrefi. RHIFYN ETHOLIADOL. Gwanwyn 2012

BRWYDRWCH YN ERBYN Y

TORRIADAU! TRETHIANT

UWCH I’R CYFOETHOG!

Dim ond y Blaid Gomiwnyddol sy’n rhoi blaenoriaeth i weithwyr,

pensiynwyr, y diwaith, rhieni sengl a’r

anabl.

A hynny o flaen enillion busnesau mawr, y cyfoethog, preifateiddio a rhyfel.

Am y rheswm hynny rydym yn GWRTHWYNEBU pob torriad mewn gwariant cyhoeddus,

swyddi, pensiynau a

budd-daliadau.

Mae Prydain yn un o’r gwledydd mwyaf

cyfoethog yn y byd. Serch hynny dim ond un-degfed o’i phoblogaeth sy’n

berchen ar dros hanner y cyfoeth hynny.

Byddai Treth Gyfoeth ar y gor-

gyfoaethog yn talu am y buddsoddiad angenrheidiol i’n gwasanaethau cyhoeddus, diwydiant, tai, trafnudiaeth gyhoeddus a’r amgylchfyd.

MAE GWASNAETH GYHOEDDUS DDA, PENSIYNAU A CHYFLOGAU CYFARTAL YN BOSIB os ydym yn codi trethi tecach ar y cyfoethog ac ar

fusnesau mawr.
