By choosing Nu Flow, the production plant was able to fix the problem without having to install new piping throughout the facility. Customer: Liomont Laboratories is a Mexican pharmaceutical company with a presence in 16 countries across America and Europe. They employ over 1,500 people and can produce over 120 million units per year. Site: The production plant began production in 1938 and is located in Cuajimalpa, Mexico City. Liomont currently has one of the most modern pharmaceutical facilities in Latin America. System: The system is made up of 230 feet of concrete sanitary and storm drain with a 6” diameter. This horizontal pipe system is located under the main corridor of the plant. This main hall connects with production areas and provides access to water and gas delivery trucks. Situation: Due to constant usage, the pipe began to get cracks throughout its structure. Roots started taking over the pipe and clogged it. Due to the importance of the main corridor, putting in new pipes was not an option. They needed a solution that wouldn’t stop production or disrupt employees. Solution: Nu Flow Mexico technicians started by cleaning out the inside of the pipe. They used Nu Flow’s patented pull-in-place process to rehabilitate the line. This process was completed using existing access points, which prevented destruction to the plant. The cured epoxy created a strong structural liner that covered all cracks in the pipe and will prevent future cracks and roots intrusions. The property manager made the best economical decision by choosing the non-destructive Nu Drain system instead of installing new pipes that will eventually see the same failures overtime. Nu Flow technicians worked during the weekend to ensure there was no disturbance to daily business operations.

Nu Flow Mexico used Nu Drain technology to rehabilitate sanitary and storm drains at Liomont Laboratories in Mexico City.
