Grupo Siete Leguas (GSL), advised by Deloitte’s Financial Advisory and Tax and Legal Services professionals, has completed the acquisition of Santista Work Solution, S.A. (Santista) from the Brazilian Group Mover Participações S.A. (Mover). GSL has successfully completed the acquisition of the Brazilian textile company Santista, which throughout its two business units is a leading company focused in the manufacture of Jeanswear –innovative fabrics for the production of denim clothes – and Workwear –special fabrics for professional clothing. Santista has operations in Brazil and Argentina, and for the past 15 years has been awarded with “Prêmio Marca Brasil”, in addition, in Argentina Santista owns OMBU, the most recognized workwear brand in that country. “It is fair to say that Santista is not only one of the most recognized textile mills in South America, where they are leaders in both jeanswear and workwear industries, but also an acclaimed company and brand all over the world” said José Juan-Marcos González, CEO of GSL. With this transaction, GSL follows its path to consolidate as the biggest textile group in the Americas and one of the largest in the world, having now operations in the whole American Continent, with commercial and production activities in the U.S., Mexico, Nicaragua, Brazil and Argentina. GSL also exports and holds commercial operations with over 40 countries in Africa, Asia, Europe and Oceania (Australia). “We started our acquisition growth strategy back in 2015 with the purchase of Tavex, then AALFS, and now Santista. Both C-Suite executives stated that Santista will continue operating under the current management, with no significant operational changes but always looking for synergies and opportunities for growth.

José Juan-Marcos González and Homero Wong were directly in charge of carrying out the purchase negotiations. They both agreed in the strategic importance that this move will represent to the Group. GSL is very motivated with the acquisition, which reinforces the commitment and vision to invest in Brazil and Argentina, and enhances and increases its operations in Latin America.
