Finland: From Stump to BoilerMain Benefits to Hyötypaperi
• access to market – partnership with forest associations due to MHG Biomass Manager
• storages, human and machinery resources can be managed on-line by easy-to-use technologyon-line alarms can be done when needed (weather and road conditions, demand etc.)
• less supervising needed (savings 50%)
• outsourced contractors plan their daily work by themselves and can optimise work and save in driving distances and working hours due to better optimisation of routes and volumes (savings 5-10 %)

For Data Collection in Slope: MHG Mobile Application
• Collect data, monitor biomass and record
key characteristics of the storages and add
HD photos etc• NFC-technology available for tracking
=> All in one single mobile device
Kick-off Meeting, Trento, January 8 2014
For Customizing in SLOPE: Iptim Service
Iptim:
• The data model for forest inventory data and baseline definition of how forests are managed; the management regime
• The growth models on which the simulation is based; • possibility to create user’s own growth models in situations
where there’s scarce research literature found• Adopt specific models from research, calibrate with your own
data if necessary
The Simo framework has been validated in Finland where the framework is in operational use on close to all of the 26 million ha of forest land.
