MHS ALUMNI 2009 1989……………………20 YEARS The 1989 Yearbook (also known as the ‘Annual’), courtesy of the Old Greer County Museum, has a nice recorded history for its classmates. The book covers kindergarten through twelfth grades making it an exceptional piece of history for researchers. In comparison, today the Annuals do not carry alumni memberships since the roster holds over 5000 names, requiring much more expense in publication. The early day yearbooks kept these lists active for several years before discontinuing the practice. In 1952, Mrs. Nellie Powers Stultz, Historian, published all members of the Alumni Association up to that time in the Mangum Star. This was quite an undertaking and is still an excellent source of information for historians today.
