Wheel Boat "Lady Dolphin of Daytona," and enjoy a very nice
late lunch and get a scenic view of Daytona Beach.
The dinner choices include shrimp, prime rib, ham, or
turkey and dressing. Dinners include red bliss mashed
potatoes, green beans and rolls.
The base price is $21.95 plus taxes and gratuities and
port charges; total cost per person is $29.95. Dinner is served on the boat with seating indoors
on the first deck and on the open upper deck (with covering). Soft drinks and water are $2
including refills. Beer and wine are available starting at $3 each.
We will depart the Titusville area approximately at 10:30. The boat will leave promptly at
1:00 pm. More details, including sign-up information to follow.
Drive to Tampa for Classic Silent Movie
Silent film buff, Tracy Tannen, is going over to Tampa to the historical Tampa Theatre to
view the silent film classic, “Safety Last.” Best yet, there will be a live Wurlitzer organ being
played as accompaniment by an amazing organist. This will be a good, long drive and a
possible date night in Tampa.
Tracy lives in Oviedo, but is willing to lead a caravan over to Tampa, if there are RSVPs.
The meet up location will be the Titusville Cracker Barrel on Hwy 50. Time: 11:45.
Depart: 12 Noon. It takes about 2:15 to get downtown. Show time is 3pm.
Tickets can be purchased in advance on line for $13 each.
Details can be had at the link below:
http://tampatheatre.org/movie/safety-last/
RSVP to Tracy at: [email protected]
Discuss other details such as meals and possible hotel if you want
to stay the night.

Velocity Aircraft Tour and Lunch Recap
Submitted by Bunnie Dow
On Thursday, June 14, club members met the Dows in Melbourne Beach for the drive to
Sebastian to meet our tour hosts, Travis and Janet Holland. Travis is a long time employee of
Velocity Aircraft and he proved an excellent tour guide as we walked through the assembly and
avionics facilities. He discussed all facets of manufacturing these fiberglass, rear-engine aircraft
which are sold all over the world. Anyone interested in purchasing one must complete 51% of
the assembly process themselves. After our tour, the group adjourned to Mulligan’s Beach
House Restaurant for an enjoyable dinner. Thank you Travis and Janet for a great day.
Guess Who?
This couple, who are Miata and animal lovers, joined the Club in 1997
when they bought a ‘97 red Miata. They have been loyal, active
members since.

Drive the Maytown Road, Pas Deux Recap
On Friday, June 22, 19 members, driving 10 Miatas and 1 OTM, met at the Cracker Barrel in
Titusville to begin the journey to Osteen, FL for lunch at the Osteen Diner (aka Bacon Heaven).
Chris and Steve Saretsky were our hosts, as they graciously repeated the trip they hosted last
month - due to high demand (and some whining by me). The weather was pretty warm, so only a
few tops went down as the drive went up I-95 to Oak Hill, then west on the Maytown Road to
Osteen-a pretty desolate stretch through the scrub of Florida. Patsy Daniels met us at the diner,
where we were seated straight away. The food came pretty quick for our size party and was
delicious. How could a huge bacon burger not be? Thanks, again, to the Saretskys for being
great hosts on a great event.
How I Spent Some of My Kid’s Inheritance A few months ago several members: Peggy & Matt Bretz, Grady & Nancy Vickers, and Norm &
Carol Goyette, took a cruise to the Caribbean Sea islands. A good time was had by all on the
Serenade of the Seas for 11 days. .
6
How I Spent Some of My Kid’s Inheritance Jane and Mike McClain were gone for 19 days in May to attend the Gap trip and tour
Virginia / Maryland historical sites. They then drove to Baltimore, flew to CA to visit their son and
family, flew back, and drove home from Baltimore. Got 50 points towards the Moss Challenge
with over 3,500 miles driven. A lot of bucket list items accomplished visiting these sobering sites.
July Birthdays The club wishes a happy day (and many more) for the
following members:
Matt Bretz, Patsy Daniels, Mike Doyle, Mike McClain, Kay Sanders, Charlie Sizer, Nancy Vickers
Upcoming Events
July 14 —Saturday, Linhares/LaCroix Pool & Games Party

Answers to the child photos: Nancy and Grady Vickers. Their first Miata, the red ‘97, was
sold (half price) to #2 son in 2002. after they bought a bright yellow Miata and had a super-
charger installed. It was sold the their daughter (half price) and a 2010 purple Miata was pur-
chased, which was later sold to the Bretz’s. That car was replaced by a 2016 ND, which didn’t
last long, due to the 2017 Launch Edition RF model being released. They were one of the few
to get one. The 2016 was sold (half price) to #2 son. The Vickers have enjoyed all five of their
Miatas and plan on keeping the RF forever, according to Nancy, but who knows….
