What is “MIB Compiler”?• Checks whether the MIBs written in SMIv1 or

SMIv2 defined correctly• Usually allows a user to compile MIBs using a

GUI • Some tools provide MIB editor as well• Example tools

What is “MIB Browser”?• Allows a user to browse MIBs using a GUI• Some browsers can function as an SNMP

manager – send SNMP queries to SNMP agents– browse actual MIB in a system

• Example tool– MG-Soft MIB Browser– Supported on Windows, NT– available from http://www.mg-soft.com/
