Soledad Headline News: NUMBER OF UNEMPLOYED ARE INCREASING

200,000 PEOPLE FROM VARIOUS STATES CAME TO GET

EMPLOYED

A REAL STORY BY MICHAEL JOHNThere have been more people traveling around looking to be employed in the past year. People first started getting unemployed from the recent stock market crash but now there is an extra 200,000 people. In the past 3 years 200,000 people from Texas, Oklahoma, Colorado, Kansas and New Mexico came from a drought, which dried out all the farms and were followed by dust storms. All these people have come here, to Soledad to get employed to feed themselves and for some their families.

There are many people sleeping on the streets at night and in the daytime looking for jobs. Everyone is traveling around from place to place looking to be employed. Once they’ve found a job, they work there for a few months, have their last meal then take the money they’ve earned to hopefully find a place to buy and start something new. That is the dream for some. Others move around from job to job struggling to survive.

For some more fortunate people, President Herbert Hoover created “Hooverville” which is a temporary town mostly for families. Some people believe it makes sense why he made “Hooverville,” since he is accused of starting this whole situation. I went down to “Hooverville” to see what has become of this mess. TRUE OPINIONATED NEWS OPINIONATED NEWS FROM TRUE PEOPLE IN OUR COMMUNITY

A real story by Jack HowardLennie Small, wanted in two states for attempted assault and multiple murder. People are wondering if his killing is intentional or accidental. There is evidence everything he has done is accidental. Lennie Small has killed Nessa Mono, Jerry Mono’s wife. (Jerry Mono also known as Curley.). Lennie Small is big and strong, these murders could easily have been accidental. George Milton, Lennie’s b e s t f r i e n d i s ve r y c o nv i n c e d everything Lennie has done is an accident. “He jus’ so big. He don’ mean to hur’ no one eve’.” Even if it was an accident, I admit it, someone has an explanation to owe.

Lennie Small is also wanted for attempted assault back in Weeds. He clutched onto a little girls red dress and wouldn’t let go. The whole town was looking for him until they finally gave up one month ago. The town was looking for days and days. No one wanted anyone else to get hurt. George Milton, still convinced Lennie is innocent said, “he jus’ like the fabric. I’ was a nice red color. Lennie like’ the fabric. He jus’ wante’ to touch the fabric. When the gir’ screamed he panicke’.” Believable story which this leads to Lennie’s mental illness. Lennie has a history of mental illness and it is now proven this illness causes

harm to others. To prevent more people getting hurt Lennie Small should be kept away somewhere he cannot hurt others. He should be sent to a mental hospital where people can look after him. He is a danger to others and more people shouldn’t suffer from his role in our community. Some of you maythink this is harsh but you would feel the same if you were next.

You can say we are being selfish but it isn’t only about humans. Lennie Small has killed many mice and one puppy. In a mental hospital there would be no animals for him to kill and maybe eventually grow away from his need to kill animals. We, as a community must find Lennie Small. He is on the run and is dangerous. When we find him we must put him into a mental hospital and make sure he won’t hurt anyone. To be fair no charges should be made, as long as he doesn’t kill or hurt again.

Dear Editor,I would first like to thank you for letting me speak for myself and other women around. This means a lot to us because some of my friends and I have noticed woman aren’t normally heard or listened to, we are just normally seen. I understand some people may think woman shouldn’t be heard but I feel there is a chance that could change. We (us women) all really feel we should be heard because we are a true community. In a community people listen to each other. By not being heard we feel we may not be in the community at all. If all of the women are heard, the whole community could all combine our ideas and maybe find a way to end all of this unemployment. Then everyone could have a job and survive. This may change the way we all live now to something better. We can brush the past of our shoulders and easily become a fair and open community where everyone is heard.I hope you take this into consideration. We have big hopes for the future if this comes through. From Martha Jane
