BIO

Michael Adegoke is a very humble and modest guy, but he should not be. His accomplishments are vast and varied. Michael’s path to stardom proves what the human spirit can accomplish when relentless drive and determina@on converge with dreams. Adegoke is presently the only African holding Five United States Professional Ballroom Showdance Championships and a FiGh Place World Showdance Finalist posi@on. In addi@on, Adegoke is a talented superb actor, model and show host who has been cap@va@ng Hollywood and the world for many years. For Adegoke, growing up as a young man in America wasn’t easy. Coming from Lagos (West African) at a very young age, Adegoke suffered tremendously from malnutri@on and resembled a starving child from a na@onal geographic episode. In high school he was nicknamed “Tirin” (Toothpick), teased and was bullied immensely from high school through his college years. No one wanted any associa@on with Adegoke. No one gave him a chance when opportuni@es arose. Not able to befriend anyone, he succumbed to depression, very low self-‐esteem, isola@on and a desire to quit living. In 2001, trying to defile all odds, Adegoke started liGing weights. One faithful evening while jogging down a popular street in Minneapolis, Adegoke accidentally walked into a salsa club. At his first dance aXempt, he dislocated the shoulder joint of a young lady while trying to do a natural turn, which earned him a new nickname as “The Worst Salsa Dancer Ever”. Determined to remove this s@gma, Adegoke ordered $300.00 worth of La@n and Salsa dance training videos and began training rigorously on his own for five months. As faith would have it Adegoke met his dance partner Lisa Zamarripa who later introduced him to Robert and Jennifer Foster (3 Times World Showdance Champion). Robert took Adegoke under his wings and started five years intense showdance training together. Within a short period of @me Michael won five U.S. champions and a fiGh place showdance posi@on against some of the biggest names in the La@n ballroom world. In 2014 Michael co-‐hosted the African NAFCA Oscar Awards where he received two honorary awards (Image and Humanitarian awards). The event was graced by many legends such as Louis GosseX Junior, Blair Underwood, and His royal Majesty King Ooni of Ife, including a special dance performance by Michael and his partner Karen Ruby (3 Times World Aerial Showdance Champion and a ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ Choreographer). In 2011, not limi@ng himself to just dancing Adegoke made his first ac@ng debut in the “Ac@ve Shooter” movie directed by Patrick Kilpatrick. Patrick who co-‐stared with Michael believes Adegoke is one of the best improv actors in Hollywood. Michael con@nues to appear in more movies including “The Unbreakable Sword” with Eric Roberts, “Tragedy Of A Mother and son” directed by Robert Amico and “Only You and Me” produced by Peter Muonagor. Adegoke has shared the stage with many big names such as Skip Mar@n (Kool & The Gang, Prince during his 1994 “Days of Wild” concert at his Paisley Park Studio, and with Interna@onal ar@st Akon during his RCE tour in Minneapolis Minnesota. In 2010, dancing at the Hilton Las Vegas over a hundred @mes in front of over 1000 people, Michael co-‐stared and performed with superstar Lani Misalucha in “VOICES” a Giordano Produc@ons. The show drew in many top celebri@es who enjoyed Adegoke’s dance performances Mr. Adegoke has modeled for top names like Eugene Nichols Twin Ci@es Model, Vandalism Designs, Sean Doyle, and Aveda. He con@nues to work with other choreographers such as Kathy Bornoff, Caesar Russell, Pazazz, Elec@c and Daniel Spirit of David. Michael has a tremendous passion for less privileged children. For over eight years, Adegoke has been transforming the lives of HIV, abandoned children in four African countries through the organiza@on he founded. Michael He holds a Master’s degree in SoGware Science, and a Bachelor of Arts in Tele-‐communica@ons with a minor in Computer Science. He’s currently working on his first single while training for his 6th U.S dance championship and raising fund for his upcoming charity mission.
