Michałowice is a small

country, where school

seems to be the main and

actually the only one point

of meeting for the young.

Do they only learn here?

There are many activities

that through learning bring

a lot of fun too.

In 2014/2015 we would like

create one more, so we

came up with the idea of

p ar t i c i p at i n g i n a n

eTwinning project.

First eTwinning classes

It is going to be our

first eTwinning experi-

ence.

To illustrate what it is

all about we made

an eTwinning newsletter

on a display board.

Our schoolchildren

looked at it with great

interest and started to

ask many questions, like

‘when?’ and ‘how?’.

The first meeting about eTwinning took a little trip to the past to show

pupils how people used to communicate when the Internet had not been so devel-

oped yet. We asked our pupils if the knew what the word “pen pal” meant

and it turned out that they actually didn’t!

Later on they looked at the letters that our former schoolchildren used to exchange few years ago.

All of them agreed that it must have been nice.

We convinced them that eTwinning is quite similar, but everything

takes place on the Net.

To our surprise, students worked out the name of eTwinning as a

‘twin’ via ‘e’-mail.

Our schoolchildren also watched 2 movies about

eTwinning projects, in which some polish schools partici-

pated with other European ones.

These projects were awarded by the European Language

Label.

After such an introduction, we are

already giving the voice from Michałowice to

our schoolstudents. They are preparing pre-

sentations about our school and themselves–
