MICHIGAN ADOPTION THERAPIST RESOURCE LIST Complied by the Post Adoption Subcommittee through the Adoption Oversight Committee

AOC PURPOSE-The purpose of the Adoption Oversight Committee is to examine the state of adoption and adoption services in Michigan, and make suggestions and action plans on how to improve it. The Adoption Oversight Committee provides the Michigan Department of Human Services with a long-term workgroup that represents a thorough cross section of partners in the adoption arena.

ABOUT THE THERAPIST RESOURCE LIST-Our desire is to connect adoptive families with therapists who are competent in adoption-related counseling and who understand the complex needs of children and families touched by adoption. Please take the time to find a therapist that fits with your family dynamics and who is able to answer any questions or concerns you may have. This list is not comprehensive, so please feel free refer a therapist to us to add to this list. Therapists are organized by Post Adoption Resource Center (PARC) Region. See map below to find the PARC region that includes your location.
