1.Safety This HARMONY Micro Dry Bath has been tested and found to comply with safety limits for the CE regulation. Also, the block water bath is RoHS compliant to deliver confident product which meets the environmental directive. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference when the equipment is operated in a commercial environment. This equipment generates, uses, and can radiate radio frequency energy, and if not installed and used in accordance with the instruction manual, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. Operation of this equipment in a residential area is likely to cause harmful interference in which case the user will be required to correct the interference at their expense. Changes or modifications not expressly approved by the party responsible for compliance could void the user’s authority to operate the equipment. It is strongly recommended for the user to read the following points carefully before operating this equipment. ☞ Read the manual before using the Block Water Bath.

Use a properly grounded electrical outlet with correct voltage and current handing capacity.

Disconnect from power supply plug if the unit is not going to be used for an extended period of time and before maintenance and servicing. Refer serving to qualified personal.

Insert the plug securely into a wall socket. Loose connections result in excessive heat generation to the device and may cause arcing to occur at the connection.

Before operation, ensure that the power cord is fully extended. Keep the cord away from heat sources and do not place any objects on any part of the cord.

Avoid using multi-point extension power cords.

Never use this instrument series without having the safety cover correctly in position.

Do not use the unit if there is any sign of damage to the external tank or cover. Replace damage part.

Do not use in the presence of flammable or combustible material; fire or explosion may result. This equipment contains components which may ignite such materials.

Ensure that the system is connected to electrical service according to local and national electrical codes. Failure to properly connection may create fire or shock hazard.

Use appropriate materials and operate correctly to avoid possible hazards of explosion implosion or release of toxic or flammable gases arising from overheated materials.

Always use the block lifter to remove hot blocks, and wear appropriate protection to avoid burning your hand. ATTENTION: Hot Surface!

The unit shall be operated only by qualified personnel.

☞ Installing the device

Place the block water bath on a level, horizontal surface. Ensure that the device sits completely on a worktop.

Do not install the device where it can get damp or wet.

Do not use the device in potentially explosive atmosphere.

Do not operate the device in rooms where work is being carried out with explosive substances.

Do not use the device to process any substances which could create an explosive atmosphere

Do not use the device near a heat source or where temperatures are elevated. Do not operate the device when temperatures ambient to 40oC.

☞ Installing the device

Do not use the power supply when signs of damage are evident, and particularly if the power cable is damaged.

Only connect the power supply to voltage sources that correspond to the information on the identification plate regarding the power supply.

Do not use this device where there are flammable or corrosive vapors.

Install the device in a well-ventilated place. Insufficient ventilation may result in breakdown should there be overheating.

Do not operate the device before reading and fully understanding all instructions in this manual.

Observe the national regulations for handling these substances as well as the material safety data sheets and manufacturer’s application notes.

This device is not designed to be user serviceable. Do not attempt to open or modify the device. Should be device be opened by unauthorized personnel, all warranties are void.

Should there be any abnormal smell, or noise during operation, switch off the device immediately and contact your dealer for service.

Only use accessories and original spare parts recommended by manufacturer.

Only initiate dispensing if it is safe to do so.

Do not use the device to process samples with flammable contents. This unit is not designed to be explosion-proof.

For all dispensing tasks, make sure that you are not endangering yourself or anyone else.

After operation, clean the device and unplug the power if it will not be used for extended periods.

9. Installation Instruction

The unit is actually a pre-installed instrument. As long as it is placed on a sturdy and level surface in a safe, dry place, and is inserted with one or two heating aluminum block(s) or simply water as a water bath, it is ready for operation.

8-1. Place Micro Dry Bath on a sturdy and leveled surface in a safe, dry place, away from laboratory traffic. 8-2. Ensure that the power switch is OFF, then plug the three-pronged power cord into a grounded three-prong

AC outlet of the appropriate voltage.

8-3. Select suitable module block or appropriate water volume and put it / them into the Micro Dry Bath. 8-4. Turn the DC power ON. 8-5. Run temperature calibration procedure when using the instrument for the first time (see page 10). 8-6. Press ①”Up” and ②”Down” Key to adjust to the desired temperature. 8-7. To set the timer for the heating process, press ④”Mode” Key, and then press ①”Up” and ②”Down” Key to

adjust timer upon your request. The unit will stop with alarm when timer is up. 8-8. Press the ③”Start/Stop” Key to start heating. 8-9. To reset timer during heating, simply press ③”Start/Stop”Key to deactivate heating. 8-10. Press ③”Start/Stop” Key again to start the heating after setting.

Note: Please do not use Lid in water bath mode.

9. Temperature Calibration

The Micro Dry Bath with the optional block has been calibrated as a set. However, different block types or

different water source may have different influences and may cause different results. For optimum accurate

temperature control, or while changing with different kinds of block or water, The Micro Dry Bath should be

calibrated in accordance with the procedure outlined below.

9-1. Insert a calibrated laboratory thermometer into the thermometer holding port, which is located on the block

or in the middle of the chamber when water is filled.

2. Press and hold the ③“Start/Stop” Key while switching the main power ON. The Micro Dry Bath will beep and

the LED display will start flashing. This indicates the unit is under the Calibration Mode.

This segment will be flashing.

3. Press ①”Up” and ②”Down” Key to adjust display value to the temperature you want to control accurately,

and then press ③“Start/Stop” Key.

4. As the unit reaches the Target Temperature, the timer will be start to count down. Wait for approximately 30

mins, you should be hearing the “beeping” sound.

5. Adjust the display value according to the value as thermometer. And then press ③“Start/Stop” Key, the

screen will display as follow.

Saving the calibrate value

6. The calibrated procedure is now finished. Please wait for a few more minutes for the microprocessor to

automatically adjust displayed temperature value to the same value with thermometer measured.

10. Power Recover Function

1. If MD-mini was turned off during the heating state and then turned back on again. It will buzz and display

countdown from 10 to 0, then it will recover back to the last state. The timer will resume from last state as

well.

2. Press the during the countdown period to terminate the buzz and the timer. MD-mini is then

ready for operating.

Restart the unit.

If AL1 and Er1 occur simultaneously, Restart the unit as Er1 takes priority. If problem persist, please contact Major Science for immediate assistance.

11. Maintenance

Cleaning ・ The rotor and outside of the centrifuge should be cleaned regularly with a damp cloth. ・ Disconnect the centrifuge from the main supply before the cleaning. ・ Only neutral agents or a mild liquid soap may be used. ・ Do not use chemical cleaning agents or strong solvents. ・

Mechanical or chemical damage ・ Do not operate the centrifuge when there is mechanical or chemical damage. ・ Change faulty parts immediately.

13. Warranty Statement The warranty for the device is 12 months from the date of purchase. During this period the device will be repaired or exchanged without charge. Warranty is void on devices with damaged manufacture’s number, damaged seal, or damage due to improper use, storage or transport of device or service by unauthorized persons.
