you can also bake two cakes at the sametime in tins placed next to each other on theshelf. This does not significantly increasebaking time.
When frozen foods are used the traysinserted may distort during cooking. Thisis due to the large difference in temper-ature between the freezing temperatureand the temperature in the oven. Oncethe trays have cooled the distortion willdisappear again.
How to use the Baking TablesThe tables give the required temperature set-tings, baking times and oven shelf levels fora selection of typical dishes.
11
4 4
2 2
Temperatures and baking times are forguidance only, as these will depend on theconsistency of pastry, mixture or dough, the number and the type of baking tin.
We recommend setting the lower temper-ature when baking for the first time, and ifrequired, e.g. if a darker browning is de-sired or if the baking time is too long, selecta higher temperature.
If you cannot find the settings for a partic-ular recipe, look for the one that is mostsimilar.
If baking cakes on baking trays or tins onmore than one level, baking time can beextended by 10-15 minutes.
Moist recipes (for example, pizzas, fruitflans, etc.) are baked on one level.
Cakes and pastries at different heightsmay brown at an uneven rate at first. If thisoccurs, please do not change the tem-perature setting . Different rates ofbrowning even out as baking progresses.
Your new oven may bake or roast differ-ently to your previous appliance. So adaptyour normal settings (temperature, cook-ing times) and oven shelf levels to the rec-ommendations in the following tables.
With longer baking times, you canswitch the oven off about 10 minutesbefore the end of the baking time, in or-der to utilise the residual heat.Unless otherwise stated, the values giv-en in the tables assume that cooking isstarted with the oven cold.

RoastingOven function: Convection with ringheating element Insert the grease filter when roasting!Ovenware for roasting Any heat-resistant ovenware is suitable to
use for roasting. (Please read the manu-facturer's instructions.)
For all lean meats, we recommend roast-ing these in a roasting tin or dish witha lid . The meat will be more succulent.
All types of meat, that can be browned orhave crackling, can be roasted in a roast-ing tin or dish without a lid .
Tips on using the Roasting Table
The information given in the following table isfor guidance only. We recommend cooking meat and fish
weighing 1kg or more in the oven. To prevent meat juices or fat from burning
onto the ovenware, we recommend add-ing some liquid.
If required, turn the roast (after 1/2 - 2/3 ofthe cooking time).
Baste large roasts and poultry with theirjuices several times during roasting. Thiswill give better roasting results.
You can switch the oven off about 10 mi-nutes before the end of the roasting time,in order to utilise the residual heat.

Making preservesOven function: Convection with ringheating element When making preserves, only use com-
mercially available preserve jars of thesame size.
Jars with twist-off or bayonet type lidsand metal tins are not suitable.
When making preserves, use the firstshelf position from the bottom.
Use the baking tray for making preserves. There is enough room on this for up to six1-litre preserving jars.
The jars should all be filled to the samelevel and clamped shut.
Place the jars on the baking tray in such away that they are not touching each other.
Pour approx. 1/2 litre of water into the bak-ing tray so that sufficient moisture is pro-duced in the oven.
As soon as the liquid in the first jars beginsto simmer (with 1--litre jars after about35-60 minutes), switch off the oven or re-duce the temperature to 100C. (See ta-ble.)

MicrowaveInformation about operationGeneral After switching off the appliance, let the
food stand for a few minutes (see Micro-wave Tables: Standing Time).
Remove aluminium foil packaging, metalcontainers, etc. before preparing the food.
Cooking If possible, cook food covered with mate-
rial suitable for use in the microwave. Onlycook food uncovered, if a crust is to bekept.
Chilled or frozen foods require a longercooking time.
Dishes containing sauce should be stirredfrom time to time.
Vegetables that have a firm structure, suchas carrots, peas or cauliflower, should becooked in water.
Turn larger pieces about halfway throughthe cooking time.
If possible, cut vegetables into similar sizedpieces.
Use flat, wide dishes.Defrosting meat, poultry, fish Place the frozen, unwrapped food on a
small upturned plate with a container un-derneath or on a defrosting rack or plasticsieve so that the defrosting liquid can runoff.
Turn the food after half the defrosting time.If possible, divide, remove pieces that havestarted to defrost.
Defrosting butter, portions of gateau, quark Do not defrost completely in the appliance,
but leave to defrost at room temperature. This gives a more even result. Remove anymetal or aluminium packaging or parts be-fore defrosting completely.
Defrosting fruit, vegetables Do not completely defrost fruit and vege-
tables, which are to be further preparedwhile still raw, in the appliance, but at roomtemperature.
Fruit and vegetables that are to be cooked, can be cooked directly using a higher mi-crowave power, without being defrosted.
Ready Meals Ready meals in metal packaging or plastic
trays with metal covers may only be de-frosted or heated in the microwave if theseare expressively designated as suitable foruse in the microwave.
You must follow the manufacturers in-structions printed on the packaging (e. g.remove metal cover and pierce plasticfilm).

Other things to think about ...
Foods have different shapes and qualities. They are prepared in different amounts. Therefore the necessary times and powersfor defrosting, heating or cooking are alldifferent. As a rough guide: Double theamount = Almost double the time
When heating with the microwave the heatis produced in the food itself. For this rea-
son all places cannot be heated at thesame time. The heated dishes shouldtherefore be stirred or turned, especially inthe case of larger amounts of food.
The standing time is given in the tables.Let the food stand, in the appliance or out-side it, so that the heat is distributed moreevenly.
You get better results for rice using flat, wide dishes.
