Micro - (Small) Encapsulation -(Capsule formation)
It Is defined as the applying relatively thin coating to small particles of solids or droplets of liquids and dispersions.
Coating size Range:– 100 – 5000Micron

Advantages of Micro-Encapusulation over Tablet Coating
Micro-Encapsulation• Converting liquid into
flowable solids• Alters colloidal and
surface properties• Smallness of coating size• Adaption to wide variety
of dosage form• Distribution widely
throughout GIT• Drug absorption is more
Tablet Coating• Solid to solid only• Coating size large
incase of suger coating
• Adapt only over tablet• Distribution is slow• Drug absorption is
slow compare to Micro-Encapsulation
