The ChallengeODA Travel Demand Management (TDM) programme needed a web-based tool

that would enable spectators to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games

to easily plan their journeys to and from venues, which informed them of likely

congestion and known travel bottlenecks.

The SolutionAtos Spectator Journey Planner made it easy for spectators to create travel plans

specific to their individual requirements from anywhere in Great Britain, and up to

12 months of their trip, which included venue and security check queuing, and real-

time updates on travel disruptions and interchange times.

The Impact • Enabled over 2.75 million unique users (about 75% of ticket holders) to

successfully plan around 1.3 million journeys over the course of the London

2012 Olympics and Paralympic Games.
