The E-mail &oter is an inter!ace between the "icroso!t #$namics %&" s$stem and one

or more E*change servers or P/P servers !or incoming e-mail, and one or more S"TP

servers !or otgoing e-mail. E-mail messages come into the "icroso!t #$namics %&"

s$stem throgh the E-mail &oter.

"icroso!t E*change /nline is a hosted enterprise messaging service !rom "icroso!t

which provides the robst capabilities o! "icroso!t E*change Server as a clod-based

service.

The new &oter ses E*change web services ;E<S= as the commnication protocol as

opposed to HTTP-#7> which was sed !or earlier on-premises E*change servers.

de(ne at least one deplo$ment. The in!ormation that $o enter into the #eplo$ment

/nline deplo$ment.

!ailover, start

Deploy In"o6 Rules The &le #eplo$ment <i?ard is sed !or the sers or ees con(gred as Dorward

mailbo*es becase the$ need server rles installed on "icroso!t E*change to !orward

emails to the &oter mailbo*. This rle sends a cop$ o! each message received b$ a

"icroso!t #$namics %&" ser to the "icroso!t #$namics %&" s$stem mailbo*. Drom the

"icroso!t #$namics %&" s$stem mailbo*, the email roter retrieves the messages and

creates an email activit$ in "icroso!t #$namics %&".










7n important part o! roting e-mail messages to $or "icroso!t #$namics %&" s$stem

is the placement o! an E*change Server inbo* rle in the inbo* o! each "icroso!t

#$namics %&" ser or ee. This rle sends a cop$ o! each message that is received
