To start a program that is loaded on the computer but not on the dock, click the Finder icon on the dock to open the Finder window
Click the Applications in the Sidebar (the left side of the Finder window), locate the desired program to use on the right side of the Finder window, then double-click the program to open it
To save time in the future, drag the program icon from the Finder window to the desired location on the dock
