Dear ______________________: Thank you so much for agreeing to participate in Fisher Elementary’s annual career day on Friday, December 1, 2017. This event is special because it introduces so many possibilities to our students. The presentations our students hear inspire them to continue their education and reach for their dreams. The schedule for this year is as follows: 8:00-8:30 Light breakfast and instructions for the presenters. _________ 8:30-9:00 Presentation #1 _________ 9:05-9:35 Presentation #2 _________ 9:40-10:10 Presentation #3 _________ 10:15-10:45 Presentation #4 Please note the sessions you will be presenting. They have been marked with an X. Most presenters will do all four sessions, but some may only be able to do 1-3 because of schedule constraints. A few tips for a successful career day: Our students love learning with all their senses! If you can, bring items that our students can see, touch, hear and taste (if applicable). If that is not possible, please consider bringing photos from your job. Our classes are equipped with document cameras, projectors and screens. You can bring hard copies of your photos or put them into a power point slideshow. If you are bringing a slideshow, the easiest way to display the presentation is from a flash drive. Plan to speak about your career for approximately 20 minutes. The last ten minutes are usually the best time to take student questions. Dear ______________________:

Thank you so much for agreeing to participate in Fisher Elementary’s annual career day on Friday, December 1, 2017. This event is special because it introduces so many possibilities to our students. The presentations our students hear inspire them to continue their education and reach for their dreams.

The schedule for this year is as follows:

8:00-8:30 Light breakfast and instructions for the presenters.

_________ 8:30-9:00 Presentation #1

_________ 9:05-9:35 Presentation #2

_________ 9:40-10:10 Presentation #3

_________ 10:15-10:45 Presentation #4

Please note the sessions you will be presenting. They have been marked with an X. Most presenters will do all four sessions, but some may only be able to do 1-3 because of schedule constraints.

A few tips for a successful career day: Our students love learning with all their senses! If you can, bring items that our

students can see, touch, hear and taste (if applicable).

When planning your presentation, students typically want to know the following information:

o What are your job responsibilities?o What does your typical day look like?o When did you know you wanted to have this career?o What kind of training is required for your career?o What kinds of subjects in school are connected to your career?

We look forward to seeing you on Friday, Dec. 1. If your presentation requires any special accommodations that would not be found in a regular classroom, please let us know and we will do our best to make the arrangements.
