COURSE OBJECTIVES & PURPOSES

The primary goal of this given coursework is to continue introducing students with fundamental

communication strategies and to equip them with highly important experience in conducting real-life business

writing.

Communication technologies and grammar/mechanics Review materials shall be given to students to let them

be familiarized with work-place environment in the US by providing them even more supporting materials so

they could leave this course confident and fully prepared with marketable skills.

Course grades as follows:

A: 90 and above average

B: 80 and above average

C: 70 and above average

D: 60 and above average – Course Re-retake

F: Lower than 59 average – Course Failure

Makeup tests are NOT to be given at all.

Participation

No Academic Record shall be given to any student not fulfilling attendance requirement by Georgia

Christian University’s academic regulations.

Submission of Assignments

A fully completed Assignment Cover Page must be attached to each assignment

All assignment (or examination) should be submitted to the lecturer in charge

Extension

Extension for written work will not normally be granted unless there are sufficient grounds for an

extension.

The Academic Affairs Office recognizes the following reasons for granting an extension:

- Unexpected illness (which must be supported by a medical certificate submitted to the Academic

Affairs Office or the professor in person)

- Unexpected family crisis

- Unexpected demands made by virtue of the cultural context or workplace demands faced by the

student.

Please note that the extension needs to be sought before the due date.

If your professor does grant you an extension, it is important to ensure that;

- The Student signs and dates the Extension Request Form.

- The Lecture signs and dates the Extension Request Form.

- The student can obtain the forms from Academic Affairs Office to be filled out and returned along

with all copies of original documents.

Work not Submitted

If you do not submit an assignment (an examination) by the due date, you should arrange to explain

to the lecturer, prior to the due date for the assignment, why the work has not been submitted. If the

lecturer is satisfied with your explanation, you will be awarded an incomplete grade (I). When you

eventually submit the assignment, it can only be awarded a Pass grade (P).

The extended time cannot exceed four weeks from the end of the term. If you do not submit an

assignment by the due date, an “I” will be changed to an “F”.
