Homecoming 2016 was a great success! The theme this year was harvest moon, and an actual harvest moon could be seen during the homecoming game. The week’s festivities included a battles week of dress-up days, an ex-citing pep-rally, a competitive cup design, and an outstanding ceremony and football game. The homecoming court consisted of freshmen Tyrese Eady and Emma Murphy, Kobe Pride and Shelbie Williams, sophomores Heath Waterson and Kynsea Giles, Landon Langley and Cameron Cunning-ham, juniors Madison Messick and Devonte James, Tim Barlow and Laccie Woodall, seniors Nathan Smith and Sarah Mayo, Nic McCall and Danielle Doyle, and Michael McClain and Justice Osborne. We’d like to congratulate
Michael McClain and Danielle Doyle on being the 2016 football homecom-ing king and queen! The football team also won a dominant victory over
Zion Christian with a score of 80-39. It was a great week to be a Viking!

The cup design took place before the ceremony, each class creating their own unique design. The cup design was for class competition points with the juniors coming in first, seniors in second, sopho-mores in third, and freshmen in fourth. Each design is shown below.

Every year during the week of homecoming, students participate in a series of dress-up days. This year, the theme was battles week. Monday was lazy vs. dress for suc-cess; Tuesday was rocker vs. rapper vs. country; Wednesday was TV vs. movie day; Thursday was farmer vs. animal day; Friday was class color day. Students and teachers both can be seen participating below.

The homecoming pep rally was the only one this year that counted for class points. Games included a tug of war with pantyhose and a sumo wrestling match. The sophomores won the spirit stick, but it was a great effort from each class. The pep rally was an exciting way to get everyone pumped up for the game!
