From Your Pastor Giving Thanks
Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in
Christ Jesus for you. 1 Thessalonians 5:18
On Sunday evening we talked about being thankful in all circum-
stances. I was reminded of how often I fail to give thanks to God.
I am so thankful for my salvation, the forgiveness of my many
sins, being adopted into God’s family, and the inheritance that
belongs to me in Christ. I’m thankful for the assurance that
Christ has me in His hands and nothing can pluck me out of His
hands.
I’m thankful for a wonderful wife, son, and daughter. I’m
thankful that God has graciously saved my family. I am thankful
that God has used Katelyn’s wreck for so much good in her life and
for showing her that she needed her own genuine relationship with
Jesus. It is almost like having a new daughter in the house. Did I
mention how thankful I am for my amazing wife Jenny?
I’m thankful that He has brought me and my family to Lancas-
ter Baptist Church. I am blessed to serve as your Pastor. I am
thankful for the love and support that we have here at LBC. I’m
thankful for the staff at LBC. Bro. Stephen and Bro. Nehemiah
are awesome ministers to serve alongside. I’m thankful for the
Deacons, leaders, and servants at LBC. I’m thankful for the
teachers and all the ones who labor in love with our children. I’m
thankful for our secretary Trena. I’m thankful for our mature
saints who are so faithful and supportive. I’m thankful for the
students who bring much life and excitement to the church. I am
thankful for the ones that were born again last week and for the
joy that radiates from their lives. I’m thankful for the Gospel
that saves and changes life.
I’m thankful that God not only saves us but He uses us as His
instruments to accomplish His purposes. I’m thankful for those
God has called to various places/ministries (Chervens, Tyler
Woods, Amanda Hubler) and those He is leading even now. I’m
thankful for the trials we face that mold and refine us more and
more into the image of Christ. I don’t have enough space to even
begin to list all that I should give thanks for. Bro Harold

MAKING DISCIPLES…
Question 26: How did Christ, being the Son of God, be-come man?
Answer: Christ, the Son of God became man by taking to himself a true body and a reasonable soul. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit in the womb of the Virgin Mary, and was born of her, yet without sin.
