The Midwestern University Diagnostic Pathology Center offers both biopsy and necropsy support to veterinary clinicians. The Center is staffed with veterinary anatomic pathologists (ACVP board-certified) and necropsy and histology technicians (ASCP-licensed).
The Diagnostic Pathology Center plays an important role in Midwestern University College of Veterinary Medicine’s program, and is available to meet the diagnostic pathology needs of veterinarians working in private large and small animal practices, zoo and wildlife organizations, and other veterinary or animal-related fields.
The Process

Histopathology Biopsy samples submitted will be processed and routinely stained, and a diagnostic interpretation will be sent in the form of a written report. The histopathology report will typically be provided within two to five business days from the time samples are received. Additional histochemical and/or immunohistochemical stains may be needed to provide an accurate diagnosis. Clinicians submitting samples will be contacted to approve any additional staining and associated costs.

Keep them refrigerated (~3-5°C) and submit within 24 hours.
