The Vislink Technologies Airborne Video Downlink System (AVDS) is a comprehensive aerial-based video transmission solution that delivers real-time surveillance that enhances law enforcement, emergency and critical infrastructure operations. AVDS comprises of an integrated suite of downlink transmitters, receivers and antennas that capture real-time, reliable high-definition video from drones, helicopters and other aircraft for display at command centers, mobile units and on video management systems.

AVDS, which has been deployed by law enforcement agencies, adds an additional layer of safety and security to missions being carried out on the ground. It can play an essential role in surveillance, assessment and deployment operations. Worldwide, piracy and smuggling is on the rise, and coast-guard, border protection and customs authorities are increasingly concerned with security, drug enforcement and fishery protection.

Microwave links installed on a ship relay information to another platform or tower up to 20-60 km away. Adding airborne relays to the system expanded the transmission range up to 160km.
