Military Tech Bulletin SUBJECT: WTX INFLATOR ANNUAL SERVICE CHANGE - Bulletin No 17-003

Affected Military Equipment: WTX Inflator used on BC1 and other part numbers as listed below.

Issue: This bulletin serves to notify customers of a change in Aqua Lung’s servicing guidelines for the WTX Inflator. Aqua Lung purchases the lower inflator mechanism of the WTX Inflator as a commercial off the shelf (COTS) item from an outside vendor. Aqua Lung was informed the vendor adds Loctite 271 to the QD adapter to ensure an airtight seal. Corrective Actions: Prior servicing recommendations indicated replacement of the O-ring on the QD adapter during annual service. However, since Loctite 271 is permanent, this is no longer necessary. The O-ring on the QD adapter is a BUNA-N O-ring with a lifespan of 15 years, and is well protected within the WTX Inflator. The Aqua Lung engineering team has researched the use of Loctite 271 in the WTX Inflator and has determined it safe for use. In addition, Aqua Lung has researched any history of complaints regarding the usage of Loctite 271 with this adapter and has received none. All literature will be updated to reflect this change by September 12, 2017. Part Numbers Affected: 42662  AIRWAY  COMPLETE,WTX,  K  INFLATOR
