WELCOME

Welcome to the third installment of Icon’s future talent & leadership series. Following our

successful Future Leadership and the 8th Diversity & Inclusion Seminars which focussed

on the innovative and evolving ways of Leadership & Diversity and New Ways of Working,

we are delighted to bring you our third installment, “Driving The Momentum of Millennial’s

Seminar that will take place in Brussels on Thursday October 1st.

In keeping with the millennial theme of fast paced learning, this one day seminar will cover

three main sections of the Millennial Talent question.

Firstly we will examine how companies recruit & attract millennial talent through social media.

Secondly we will look at how you develop and engage early talent before finally exploring

how you retain millennial talent.

One of the important criteria we set for our presenters, was that their organisations have an

effective working millennial program in place. With this we will examine how these leading

companies are delivering effective results while also laying successful ‘how to’ approaches

and strategic models for the future.

We invite you to join us for this one day conference with robust research, case studies, debate

sessions, roundtable discussions and keynote presentations.

See you in Brussels.

The Female Millennial: A New Era of TalentOrganisations are currently facing the challenges that come with vast numbers of millennial talent entering and reshaping the workforce. In parallel, they are also challenged with a lack of women in leadership posi-tions and fast becoming concerned with the financial and competitive toll this could mean for their organi-sations. • Organisations looking to address the gender leadership gap must drive parallel efforts that tackle en-hanced leadership diversity in conjunction with systemic change efforts targeting the workforce from day 1 • To get this right, organisations must better understand how to attract, develop, engage and retain female millennial talent.  • Our research identifies that one thing is clear: when it comes to the female millennial we really are talking about a new era of talent. This presentation will explore the findings from latest millennial research study, providing insights into the minds of the female millennial.

11:25 – 11:55 Coffee & Networking Break

11:55 – 12:40 Raf Seymus Founder & Managing Partner / EXELLYS

Bridging the gap between the academic and the business worldWhen we focus on the Belgian IT market, there are 3 large gaps between the academic and the business world: 1) A structural shortage of highly technically skilled graduates. Is there still fish in the pond? 2) Millennials have different expectations of ‘working’ than previous generations. They want something else but what exactly? 3) The knowledge and skills they bring from their education are not sufficient to get them integrated quickly in a professional organization. How do we really get them on board?

And yet some companies seem to have no problem at all with attracting, integrating and keeping these ‘smart creatives’ on board. Why do they succeed where other companies fail? What are they doing different-ly? How are they bridging these gaps? (SESSION NOTE CONTINUED)

Page 6: Millennial talent seminar brussels june jeu

And it is a crucial part for millions of people so we in the HR arena need to get it and we need to get it right. • How do we work with social media as an integrated part of the everyday HR-work • How do we use it to attract world-class talent?

14:30 – 15:15 Dev Nadya Powell Managing Director / LOST BOYS INTL.
