COMBATING OPIOID OVERDOSE THROUGH COMMUNITY-LEVEL INTERVENTION (1 0F 2)
�MCSO will collaborate with various entities encountering individuals with opioid addiction behaviors, community organizations, Local, State and Federal Agencies, to intervene, prevent, educate, and improve awareness of the dangers of opioid abuse.
�Jail Health Services staff diagnose and treat inmates with predispositions to addiction and abuse of opioids. Inmates receive referrals/treatment information upon release which offer continuation of care options, a follow-up component will be added

COMBATING OPIOID OVERDOSE THROUGH COMMUNITY-LEVEL INTERVENTION (2 0F 2)
� Inmate programing will be enhanced to include opioid abuse/intervention.
� Community Resource Officers (CRO) and Target Enforcement Officers (TEU) will conduct public awareness sessions.
� Social media and public service announcements will be used to educate the public.
� MCSO’s data analytic division will collect and analyze applicable data from various sources throughout the county. Grant money will be used for equipment, training, costs to develop, produce and publish training materials.
