Made By MomsminiMasters is created and run by New York moms like you. With previous careers on Wall Street, in corporate America, education and theatre, we decided to come together and form a superior, family-friendly space focused on arts education for children.

“After five years of trekking all over NYC and sitting in cramped spaces while waiting for my children to finish their classes, I knew the time had come for a ‘one-stop’, quality child-develop-ment and family center.”

Anh Nuyen-Steininger, Chief Executive Officer

“Over the years, I noticed an increas-ing number of my friends and family were choosing to raise their children in the City. That choice was always seen as a compromise as there was a lack of quality community centers that catered to the entire family. I wanted to create a new experience for families, including my own.”

Marie-France Greer, Chief Financial Officer

“Based on my training as a dancer and a singer, my continuing yoga and pilates regimen, I have developed a unique circuit program of music and activities focused on bringing out each child’s natural athleticism and abilities. I also bring my background as an event planner, my boundless energy and most importantly my experience as a Tribeca mom to miniMasters everyday.”

Shannon Cave, Creative Officer

After years of running around town with our kids to classes, events, recre-ational activities - you name it - hailing cabs with stroller in tow, we knew there had to be a better way. miniMasters is it! A place to foster the develop-ment of our children in a low stress environment. At miniMasters, we have created an inviting and comfortable space for the whole family. While your son is having a music lesson upstairs, you can get a manicure, and while your daughter is in dance class downstairs, you can enjoy a cappuccino. You are all at miniMasters, together.

It is crucial that children be exposed to the arts and creativity alongside their parents from a young age. As New York parents, we know that our community is in need of quality family programs to instill a love for and understanding of the arts. miniMasters is a first-class learning center designed to develop your child’s creativity and talents.

miniMasters is a state of the art, air-conditioned, sleek and clean learning center. We offer 6,000 sqft and two floors that house a modern café upstairs, a large play space and a gym downstairs, a variety of large classrooms, and music studios equipped with baby grand pianos. The design of the miniMas-ters space is eclectic, maintaining the Tribeca look with high ceilings, open spaces and clean lines, though with touches of whimsy and comfort to create a welcoming space for the entire family.

“[miniMasters]…combine[s] children’s exercise classes, children’s art classes, children’s music classes, and ‘the parent thing’ (café, spa and pilates) into… a gleaming, flawlessly branded, architecturally striking learning center on Reade Street.”

Downtown Express 2006

We believe that when nurtured by the right environment, “mini” minds can accomplish anything!

miniMusicians Research studies show that music lessons can improve memory and learning ability in young children. Active music making also helps to develop emotions, hearing, concentration, coordination, self-discipline and self-esteem.

Piano, Violin, GuitarMusic instruction at miniMasters is based on the Suzuki method. It develops not only your child’s musical talent but his personality and ability for self-expression. The success of the Suzuki approach is that any child can be taught to play an instrument – in much the same way as he learns to speak his native language – through repetition and reinforcement in a positive environment.

Our classes are designed so that your child will learn at his own rate, mastering each small step. Our Suzuki curriculum consists of weekly private lessons, group performance classes and group Dalcroze or Musicianship classes. Private classes will be recorded onto DVD for reference when students practice at home to get the most out of each lesson. Group lessons and periodic recitals develop your child’s poise and confidence, providing him with the opportunity to perform and listen. These skills will be reinforced through trips to and performances at concert halls (like Carnegie Hall) and music festivals.

The key element for success, however, is a parent’s support and commitment. Therefore parents are required to attend private and performance classes alongside their children so that they may be-come the home teachers. We also offer parent-only Suzuki tutorials so that you can keep up with your child’s developing musical skills.

The goal of our miniMusicians Program is to help every child find the joy that comes through music-making.

We accept children as young as 3 years of age.

Private piano and violin lessons are also available for ages 7 years and up, for all levels.

Musicianship (3y+)

This class is invaluable to our young musicians. Blending the Ko-daly method with traditional musical education, it develops music reading skills, a keen ear and a better understanding of musical form, structure and harmony. All of these are necessary parts of a complete music education, providing a good base for you child’s instrumental studies. (45 minutes)

Dalcroze Program (18m+)

This is a great way to start your child on a musical journey of dis-covery. The renowned composer Emile Jacques-Dalcroze believed that all music begins with movement, and that the body is the first instrument to be trained. Through simple games, exercises, and improvisations, our students learn to combine music and move-ment. The power of rhythm is essential to create unity between

miniMindsminiMasters is excited to introduce miniMinds, our new dropoff program for pre-schoolers 2 to 3 years of age. Parents can choose from a 2-day to a 4-day program. Taught by our early childhood care professionals and our talented teachers, our miniMinds program will combine our signature classes in music, art, and movement with gym, classroom inter-action, storytime, and motor skills activities, both large and small. We strongly believe that our creative learning environment will encourage growth and development as a whole, all the while building on each child’s strengths. The main goals of our program are to help each child gain self confidence and independence, to give each child a happy ex-perience in making the adjustment from home life to school life, to nudge them toward enjoying playing with other children, and to encourage

curiosity in a safe and nurturing environment.
