The Embassy of India, Amman in collaboration with The Rainbow Art House Theatre, Amman, organized a “Bollywood Film Week”. His Excellency Ambassador Mr. Radha Ranjan Dash made a brief speech to the gathering on the second day of the event (on 27 th
Feb). H.E. Ambassador Mr. Radha Ranjan Dash while welcoming the audience highlighted on cultural cooperation between Jordan and India in the future. The event was well-attended and appreciated, witnessing participation from all walks of life including members of the diplomatic corps, bureaucrats, professionals, eminent persons, Friends of India and PIOs/OCIs.

Subject: Bollywood Film Week.
In connection with organizing the “Bollywood Film Festival” in the month of February, 2013, the undersigned met with Mr. Yazan, Managing Director, The Rainbow Art House Theatre.
2. Vide FR- Mr. Yazan has quoted venue hiring charges @ JD 300 per day. With much persuasion he agreed for lump-sum of JD 500 (Jordanian Dinar Five Hundred only) for two days i.e. 26-27 Feb, 2013. These are the only window of dates available with the Theatre.
3. As on date, the Mission is left with around JD 744.000(Jordanian Dinar Seven hundred and Forty-four only) against Advertisement and Publicity budget for the FY 2012-13.
4. Following is submitted for approval:
(i) Booking of the Theatre for the “Bollywood Film Festival” i.e. 26-27 Feb, 2013;
(ii) Expenditure to incur on hosting light refreshment on the day of concluding ceremony on 27 Feb, 2013 with invited guests.

The Embassy of India, Jordan, propose to screening of above Hindi Films with a view to promoting cultural relations between the two countries i.e. Jordan and India. Details of the proposed films is as below and Synopsis is attached separately:

The Local newspapers, especially “ The Jordan Times” continually publicized the event for one whole week on its column “LIFE What’s On” prior to the screening dates. The information was also posted on Mission’s website.
2. The event was well-attended and appreciated, witnessing participation from all walks of life including members of the diplomatic corps, bureaucrats, professionals, eminent persons, Friends of India, PIOs/OCIs and members of the Mission and their spouses. On the occasion of the “Bollywood Film Week”, Ambassador Shri R.R. Dash made a brief speech to the gathering on 27th Feb, welcoming the audience and dwelling on cultural cooperation between Jordan and India in the future.

On the occasion of the Republic Day, a flag hoisting ceremony was held at the Ambassador’s residence where the national flag was unfurled by the Ambassador Dash in the presence of about……….gathering from all across including eminent persons, friends of India, Persons of Indian Origin and members of the Mission and their family members. Thereafter, Ambassador read the President’s Message to the nation on the eve of Republic Day-2013 in front of the gathering. The function was followed by light refreshments.

2. The admission is free on first-cum-first serve basis. The Embassy of India, would like to extend invitation to all Indian national, friends of India and Bollywood lovers to come and enjoy the movie. Duration of the movie is around 2 ½ to 3 hrs.

We acknowledge with many thanks the receipt of your kind email message of today (as reproduced below). Withour your assistance and guidance, I must confess, we would not have been able to organise the screening at the Royal Cultural Centre on 1st August, 2010.
2. May I take this opportunity to recall our conversation requesting you for securing two more dates for us, preferably in end-September / early-October 2010, for screening of two other Indian feature films namely, 'Munnabhai MBBS' and 'Pardes'. The prints of these films are in 35mm format and the Embassy has got the screening rights. We would grealy appreciate if you could put in a word with the Royal Cultural Centre and get us two dates as soon as possible.
