Figure 10

A swivel seat is provided to enable you tomount/dismount the seat more easily atthe top of the stairs by swivelling you onto the landing.

To operate the seat swivel, wait untilthe stairlift has stopped.

To swivel the seat hold either (there isone both sides of the seat) swivel leverdown or pull it up. This will release theseat lock and allow you to move the seatround by pushing away from thefootplate. When the seat reaches 90degrees it will lock in position.

You should not attempt to leave the seatuntil it has firmly ‘clicked’ into its lockedposition.

To swivel in the opposite direction followthe same procedure, but push away fromthe landing.

Power operated swivel (optional)

If your stairlift is fitted with an optionalpower operated swivel there will be noswivel levers fitted. In order to swivel theseat hold the operating toggle in the updirection. When the stairlift reaches thetop of the stairs continue to hold theoperating toggle in the up direction. The stairlift will beep three times andthen the seat will swivel. When the seat is fully swivelled to 90 degrees the seatwill stop.

You should not attempt to leave the seatuntil it is fully rotated.

To swivel in the opposite direction followthe same procedure in reverse. Push theoperating lever in the down direction. The seat will beep three times and thenafter a short pause it will rotate to thedriving position. Continue to hold theoperating lever in the down direction. The stairlift will then again beep threetimes before beginning its descent.

SAFETY PRECAUTIONSNEVERSwivel the seat without the lap beltfastened.

NEVERMount or dismount the swivel seat unlessit is locked in position.

NEVERTry to operate the swivel seat whilst thestairlift is in motion. (As a safety precaution, should you try to use it whilst the lift is inmotion, it will cause the lift to stop).

NEVERAttempt to travel up or down the staircaseunless the seat is in the correct position(i.e. facing directly across the staircase).

Figure 11

In some installations a hinged track optionmay be necessary: usually to move the trackout of the way of a doorway at the foot ofthe stairs. The hinged track is fully automaticin operation and will function as follows:

Going up the stairsMount the stairlift as previously directedand push the operating toggle in the updirection. The stairlift will, after a shortdelay, move up the stairs. Once the lift haspassed the hinged track section it will stop– KEEP THE TOGGLE PRESSED IN THE UP DIRECTION. At this time the seatwill beep three times whilst the hingetrack automatically folds itself away. When the hinge is fully folded the stairliftwill continue to the top of the stairs.

Going down the stairsMount the stairlift as previously directedand push the operating toggle in the downdirection. The stairlift will, after a shortdelay, move down the stairs. Before the lifthas reached the hinged track section it willstop (Figure 11) – KEEP THE TOGGLEPRESSED IN THE DOWN DIRECTION.

Hinged trackpowered (optional)

At this time the seat will beep three timeswhilst the hinge track automatically folds openitself. When the hinge is fully open the stairliftwill continue to the bottom of the stairs.

Parking the StairliftWHEN THE STAIRLIFT IS NOT IN USE IT SHOULDBE MOVED TO ITS PARK POSITION SO THATIT DOES NOT CAUSE AN OBSTRUCTION.

THE STAIRLIFT DOES NOT CHARGE WHEN ITIS PARKED AT THE BOTTOM OF THE STAIRS.

To park the stairlift, press and hold the P buttonon the handset (Figure 12). The lift will travelup the stairs to its park position and the hingewill automatically fold itself. If you releasethe P button the lift or track will stop moving. To continue, press and hold the P button again. After a short delay movement will start again.

Your stairlift track is fitted with chargingpoints, normally at the top and bottom of thestaircase. Your stairlift should be left on oneof these charging points when not in use toensure that the batteries are charged. If thestairlift makes a beeping noise and/or thedisplay show a "2" when it is left on acharging point and it is not in use IT IS NOTCHARGING. Please check that the powersupply for the stairlift is switched on. If it isswitched on and the beeping continues pleasecontact your dealer or the Minivator ServiceDepartment on 08700 118282.
