GUESTS Director Rivera introduced the Superintendent and a Board Member of the Tomball ISD who spoke with the membership in reference to the upcoming school bond election. Director Rivera introduced Deputy Kendrick the community’s patrol officer. Deputy Kendrick reviewed the security status report and encouraged the membership to get involved with their community and to look out for their neighbors. Mr. Castleman of Allied Waste was introduced and addressed the membership concerning waste pickup. Several questions were brought up such as wrong billing and missed pickups. The possibility of a recycling program was also discussed. ESTABLISHMENT OF QUORUM Director Rivera confirmed with Ms. Brown of SCS Management that quorum had been established. NOMINATIONS Director Rivera opened the floor for nominations. No nominations were offered, floor was closed. Mr. Carl Zeitler motioned that with one position open and one nominee that Mr. Mark Schubert be voted in by acclimation. Mr. Mark McDuffie seconded the motion. With majority in favor and only one opposed, motion passed. FINANCIALS The 2006-year end financials and the 2007 projected budget were provided for review. Director Rivera reviewed the 2007-projected budget. Several questions were asked in reference to landscaping and future plans. CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS/MAJOR EXPENDITURES Director Schubert reviewed the 2006 Capital Improvements accomplished within the community. ARCHITECTURAL CONTROLS Director Schubert thanked all volunteers currently serving on the architectural control committee for their commitment to the community. He also stated that the committee was presently seeking additional volunteers. Director Schubert acknowledged that the biggest concern at this 2007 Recreation Calendar Fall Festival Saturday, October 27th 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Santa Ride Saturday, December 8th 2 p.m. time was the Architectural Control Guidelines in reference to flags. He stated that the committee had worked for months to come up with what they thought to be the best solution in this matter, however due to a large response the Board was willing to review and possibly modify the guideline. Several polls were taken to obtain the overall view of the membership in attendance. Mr. Brian Grey motioned to keep the current guidelines, with the restrictions as to where flags could be flown, number of flags and the type of flag. However the American flag would be exempt from the restriction. The American flag could be flown from any location of choice, with the exception of a freestanding flagpole. Mr. McDuffie seconded the motion. Motion carried. A discussion followed with a decision to have the ACC committee to follow up on this guideline with possible further changes. Director Schubert presented information he had received on the opening of the Spring Cypress entrance stating that it may take seven to nine years before Spring Cypress was widened and the entrance opened. However it is the obligation of the developer to open this entrance, as it was platted as an entrance to the community. Director Tann gave out certificates of appreciation to those members who had helped throughout the year. There being no further business to address the meeting adjourned at 9:10pm.
