RETIREE RECOGNITION

Terry Bailev - 30 years of service Mr. Horner recognized Terry for his years of service at Wapakoneta City Schools as a Custodian at the High School. Mr. Homer worked closely with Terry for many years when he was at the High School. Terry has done a ton over the years. First, most importantly, is that he has done a great job in his position, which is taking care of the buildings. He has also made many contributions to the WCA. He has been a leader in the WCA. He is always a guy you could go to and talk very common sense with. You could tell your opinion and he could tell his. They might be dramatically different, but you could shake hands and walk away and you were done. It really made a great working relationship. Terry would have fun in the whole process. We had a lot of fun with Terry over the years. Terry is going to come back and sub for us in the classroom as well as a custodian. We look forward to his return after some time off. Mr. Homer congratulated him and wished him the best of luck.

On Saturday, February 2ih the lm~ulse Drumline is scheduled to compete at Springfield Holland High School in Holland, Ohio and on Sunday, February 281 at Findlay High School. These competitions are held by the Ohio Indoor Performance Association , which is the state organization that we compete in. The purpose of these competitions is for the students to receive comments from judges to help them improve their ability and performance. Since these performance are both in Northwest Ohio, I am asking for approval for the students to stay overnight at the Holiday Inn at Maumee, Ohio. The cost for the hotel per student will be $35.00 and includes a continental breakfast. A waterpark is attached to the hotel for the students to use on Saturday evening for an additional cost of $15.00 per student.

I have attached a tentative itinerary for your review.

I am also submitting approval for four paid staff members that will be assisting me with the Indoor Drumline for the 2015-2016 school year.

Broe Hottle is a graduate of Wapakoneta High School. He has been the percussion instructor during marching band for the last seven years and has worked with the indoor drumline for the last six years.

Amy Wiles and Rachel Green are students at Ohio Northern University and graduates of Wapakoneta High School. During high school they both were the section leader for the drum line and showed exemplary leadership skills.

Jill Mullenhour is a graduate of Wapakoneta High School. During high school she was a section leader for the Marching Band and the Impulse cymbal line. She has shown great work ethic and a strong ability to work well with the students.

I will be attending the school board meeting on December 15th to answer any questions you may have.

Sincerely, Steven Wimmers Band Director
