Mise-en-scene

CostumeIn order for my actress/artist to standout in the music video I want her to wear simple clothes like the Taylor Swift inspired look below so black jeans and black top. Also another outfit I may consider is all white as if I change the background colour she will standout against this too, the white outfit idea is demonstrated by the image below. I will consider both outfit ideas as Pop music videos have multiple outfit changes.

HairThey’re a few hair inspirations I would like to have styled for my artist, the styles chosen are all modern looks which pop artist have took on board or they’re styles that are in fashion currently, especially the two braids. All these styles are easy to create either by myself or by the artist/actress herself. Also my actress has long blonde her just like on the images shown below to its an interpretation of how the looks will look. I may include all hair styles has often in music videos they’re many outfit changes including the hair so all hair styles may be used in my music video.

MakeupI want my female actress to be well made up. Not so much as if she were to be going out on a night out, but I want her facial features to stand out i.e red lipstick, natural glowing eyes. My makeup look is inspired by Taylor swift as she has blonde hair just like my artist and she is well known for her red lipstick therefore this could maybe be my artist motif just like Swift her self. Red is also associated with love and romance and the song I have chosen is about love therefore it fits the sub-genre of the song. My music video will include close ups of the actress’s eyes and lips therefore these features need to look the most appealing and to be eyecatching in order to grab the audiences attention.

Location For my music video my main focus is the artist herself so I've decided not to film

at a specific location apart from to shoot in the green room which is located at Wyke Sixth form college, I have had to book this out for 2 hours on the 10th December and I will book future sessions if needed.

Here is what the set looks like with all the lights in place and camera recorder:

Props

On set Off Set

Here I have considered the props that I will need for both on and off set. On set my actress will often sing through a microphone which shows that she's the actress and singer of the song. The balloons will be used for the end of the shoot as she will let go of the balloons which gives the message that she’s let go of the relationship. Off set I will be using a tripod for the camera recorder in order to have a still video also I can create different camera angles doing this. A fan will be used in order to create dramatic affect of the actresses hair moving also the set lights will be used in order to give my actress a 3D image if not she will look flat and it wont look professional.
